Go to therapy once and next thing you know you are on Vyvanse and on the red flag list.

That’s like taking a rental car to get the oil changed.

FFS....tell her, you’re a dude and except for rare instances(LSU winning a natty, watching Rudy, etc.) we’re devoid of “feelings”. She needs therapy to understand your thoughts and feelings.

The wife and me were going but our schedules have been too busy lately to go. Not sure if we will continue with it or not.

I went after my wife died. It helped me a lot.
If you want to sort through your thoughts and feelings then write in a journal. Do some introspection.

I want to go but can never afford the time. Take advantage of it. Self improvement isn't weakness, it's strength. The fact you think it's not time worthy says you should probably look inward.

Not a reason to go to therapy. You should re-evaluate this chick you're dating.

maybe like most of you, he's an unfeeling autistic a-hole and the relationship might benefit
its not as if there is a long list of women willing to have sex with the OP

My ex-girlfriend wanted me to go for anger issues. I kept putting it off wasn’t really interested. Finally went to one session, but then the person I saw was gone for a couple weeks, and despite it going well, I didn’t have a burning urge to quickly schedule the next one.
Couple weeks later we broke up. I realized I really did need to address my issues, and I wanted help. But this time, I wanted to go for me. In the last ~2 months and 7 sessions later, I can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I never believed it would work as great as it has, and I got lucky that I got someone that was right for me on the first try.
It can help, but only if you put in the work and YOU want to do it. If you’re only doing it for someone else, it my end up being a waste of time.
Good luck.

What the frick is up with this mindset? Hubris arrogance I think. “I got it bro.” “Therapy is for pussies”. Then open your eyes one day miserable as frick, can’t cope, and wonder how you got here and can’t conceive a way out. All because you couldn’t bear to talk to someone about things.
Unless you’re talking about some kind of queer liberal therapist - frick that shite.

A lot of the people here are never going to be introspective enough to realize it could help. I wasnt a big fan either until I was ready.
If and when I do ever have a relationship and engagement again, we're going to be in counseling early. I have a hard time explaining to women what I'm thinking and feeling and having a neutral party there to assist in communication is such a help.

She probably already sucked a mile of Jamal and Pablo dick and wants to break the news through a therapist. Cut your losses.

And how does that make you feel?
That'll be $45.

So basically, you're a complete douche bag and she wants to know what the hell went wrong in your childhood?

there is nothing weak about unravelling your thoughts and emotions. everyone should do a little therapy.
However, finding the right modality and a therapist that's a good fit for you is tedious. If you do go, do a little research on the types of therapy and "interview" a few before you settle on one. It can be a big investment to just pick one and then realize its not helping.
