I used to skate a bit in my younger days and was thinking of buying a deck to ride around the house. Are there still brick and mortar skate shops in BR?

where should I get my board?

During school at LSU, someone let me try to ride their longboard down the hill by the Cox Building. I busted my arse.

I think Rukus on Jones Creek is the only skate shop left. Most people buy online these days.

I still have my last board. Been about 15 years since I really rode it. Every once in a while I'll get on it and do a few tricks in the driveway. Then I'm sore for a few days. I'd break a hip if I went to an actual park.

I still have my my old Alva skateboard but I would probably kill myself if I tried to ride it.

Any of you old enough to remember Solid Serf in Baton Rouge?

You know what’s the most dangerous thing about rollerblading?

Telling your parents that you are gay.

I'm 47 and still skate once every couple of weeks. There is a really good shop where i am located and I bought my deck there but just went online for trucks, wheels, bearings...

Oh, and if you're mostly going to ride street look into getting some shark wheels. They look goofy as hell but a little pebble or stick isn't going to send you hurling, chin first across the asphalt.

Can I make it any more obvious?
He was a punk
She did ballet
What more can I say?
He wanted her
She'd never tell
Secretly she wanted him as well
But all of her friends
Stuck up their nose
They had a problem with his baggy clothes
He was a skater boy
She said, "See you later, boy"
He wasn't good enough for her
She had a pretty face
But her head was up in space
She needed to come back down to earth
Five years from now
She sits at home
Feeding the baby, she's all alone
She turns on TV
Guess who she sees
Skater boy rockin' up MTV
She calls up her friends
They already know
And they've all got tickets to see his show
She tags along
And stands in the crowd
Looks up at the man that she turned down
He was a skater boy
She said, "See you later, boy"
He wasn't good enough for her
Now he's a super star
Slammin' on his guitar
Does your pretty face see what he's worth?
He was a skater boy
She said, "See you later, boy"
He wasn't good enough for her
Now he's a super star
Slammin' on his guitar
Does your pretty face see what he's worth?
Sorry, girl, but you missed out
Well, tough, luck that boy's mine now
We are more than just good friends
This is how the story ends
Too bad that you couldn't see
See the man that boy could be
There is more that meets the eye
I see the soul that is inside
He's just a boy
And I'm just a girl
Can I make it any more obvious?
We are in love
Haven't you heard
How we rock each other's world
I'm with the skater boy
I said, "See you later, boy"
I'll be back stage after the show
I'll be at a studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know
I'm with the skater boy
I said, "See you later, boy"
I'll be back stage after the show
I'll be at a studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know

I ride a longboard somewhat frequently. I can’t do any tricks and I can’t slide, but it’s still a lot of fun. I have a Loaded Icarus.

I used to skate a lot in the 80s-early 90s. My best friend had a half pipe in his backyard.

About 5-6 years ago, there was a kid at my house on a skateboard and I asked him if I could try it out. I was bleeding in about 90 seconds
