I believe you believe that, but Alabama is 48th in average income per resident of US states. #137 ranked university in academics. 78% acceptance rate. University of Alabama system means including all feeder programs rank 78th of all US universities in terms of endowment, if you just look at UA-Tuscaloosa, it'd be in the 100+ ranked in terms of endowment compared to other universities in the US.
I'd be willing to bet schools academically ranked are generally the order in wealth of students. Harvard kids, MIT, Penn, Yale are loaded. Most Vandy, Rice, UT, TAMU kids are loaded. However sir, University of Alabama families are very far from being loaded. Rich kids go to great schools. Poor kids go to bad schools. Think LSUS, how do you think LSUS kids parents earnings are compared to LSU. How it's always been. LSU and Bama are middle of the pack. Not rich, but not poor.

I would guess most of the girls in the larger sororities (dunno about the D9s) have families with some level of money because that shite ain't cheap today. If you live in the house it can approach $8-9 grand a year.
