Depends on the size of that tree baw. I’ve seen them as expensive as $2K

It cost me as much as a chainsaw and some rope to take down several.

And turns out I didn't need the rope.

I worry about it dropping on my house. That's why I'm getting an insured and licensed tree baw to do it

Buy a chainsaw, climb the tree, and start cutting. Learn as you go.

Do you live near a golf course or park area?

If so, contact the superintendent or parks people and see if they will recommend someone for you. Also, could ask if they plan on cutting any trees down in the near future and try and schedule with the same guy as he will be in the area and it will be cheaper.

I own a chainsaw.

I don't remember what I paid for it.
