If so, what was the outcome?
Asking for a friend.

the main risk is cancer but that's why you go and get it tested and it is treatable with good outcomes
may be nothing
or it may involve hyper or hypo thyroidism which can be controlled with medication

Yep, a little shot of penicillin cleared it right up.

Yep. Just went through that. They tested it doing something called an FNA - fine needle aspiration to test if it was cancerous. Fortunately it was benign.

I had one but the crabs ate it.

Yes, I have two, one on each side. Both have been biopsied and are negative. I used to get ultrasounds done yearly for about ten years and they stayed the same size. My endocrinologist has released me back to my PCP. I am on a daily dose of Synthroid for hypothyroidism.

Yes. They did an FNA and it was benign. Which 95% of them are.

I had it on both sides. Had surgery for complete thyroud removal since biopsy came back positive. Had to take a radioactive iodine pill to kill the remaining tissue that could not be caught in surgery. Been 2 years and everything is fine. Have to take a thyroid hormone pill daily for rest of my life.

4.7 cm on one side, 2.5 cm on the other. Complete thyroidectomy, growth was benign. 200mg of levothyroxine daily for the rest of my life.

I have one now and it is being watched by the doctor/oncologist. I had a needle biopsy and it was benign but they looked at it again after 6 months with ultra sound with no change. I get a second look in Jan.
