Trying to figure out where to plant my arse when I move. Can’t decide on a 10 acre plot or a little more subdivision living. Wondering what it’s like to have a cow or two and some good fencing. What’s the hour per week commitment on something like that?

You can buy a whole cow and get it slaughtered or do a lease share agreement on someone elses farm.

I am looking for 5+ acres for my next property but I am not set in stone. A great house in a great area on 2 acres will be fine but I prefer more. I'd like a 1-2 acre pond but could live without it.

A couple cows? Not much. Maybe a couple hours.

Only after 2 am, but I was thankfully too drunk to remember everything that happened.

Two fat chicks at one time is a lot to handle.

The cow itself is easy. Maintaining the fence sucks

good fencing

The most important part.

Nothing sucks worse than the 1:00am call telling you your cows are out and it’s 40 degrees and raining. It ain’t like on Yellowstone.

This 100% will happen, fairly regularly. They never stop looking for weak spots.

My first time in the country was about 8 years ago when I was married. Had a pet calf named Brownie, I used to play with him. One night about 12:30am he was on the front porch wanting me to come out. Few months later my ex parked her jeep up next to the makeshift pen she made for him. She looked out the kitchen window and the jeep was rockin’. Brownie got sold three days later. I still miss him.

Once you get it set up, very little. Just don't frick with bulls or bred cows and it'll be easy peasy

Always had a pet cow or two as a kid.

Then off they went and came back to fill the freezer

I have a friend who has cows. He jokes that he is fence builder who has cows on the side. Apparently they just lean and push on stuff until they get out.

I grew up on a cattle farm. Would you be raising them for beef or dairy?
