09 Corolla. Should have another 100k left in it. Exterior looks like shite, but having no car payment makes up for it.

Wife and I have two vehicles:
-2013 Accord
-2017 Jeep on 37s
We take the Accord everywhere, we work together and ride together, drive Memphis to Nola or BR to visit family every other weekend. We’ve put 140k miles on it since we’ve had it and plan to drive it until it blows up. 35 MPG isn’t bad either.

I'd go buy a new Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima or Hyundai Elantra over a used car.
All come with a 100,000 mile warranty. You can also get 0% financing for 4 or 5 years.

I drive (company vehicle) a 2015 Buick Lucerne and I love the car. You could find one a year or 2 old for less then $20,000. You would not be disappointed.

I drive a Dodge Caravan as a work van. (the regular one, not the commercial ones.) Almost 200k miles on it and have not had an ounce or trouble out of it.

2019 Accord Sport 2.0 w/ 10 speed that I drive during the week. Love the car. Was around $33K new and is a much better all around vehicle than the Acura I traded in.
You could prob get a 2018 Accord 1.5 with a CVT for around $20K right now. If you are ok with CVTs, go for it. The 2.0 comes with a traditional automatic.

Mazda6 is hard to beat. Must go with a 2018 or newer though. And I’d highly recommend the Grand Touring trim or above for the turbo.
In 2018, Mazda overhauled it with a new interior and a few exterior tweaks. But the interior is fantastic. I’d put it up against sedans twice the price. All metal trim is real metal. All wood trim is real wood. Fit and finish is excellent.
And you’d have something different that not everyone has, from a brand that is rapidly moving up-market.
I'll second the Mazda 6. You may be hard pressed to find a GT Turbo under 20. Mine is a non turbo and its a bit underpowered but for a four banger its adequate. It handles better and is more fun to drive than its competitors imo. I think its the best looking 4 door sedan in that price range too.

2017 $19,998 GT non turbo 32000 miles Price Leblanc Lexus

Nope, I drive a beautiful 2009 German rig...nothing generic about it. It leaks all sorts of shite and smells like rolling Burgerking in the first 5 miles due to oil dripping on the manifold...and I have no idea where the power steering fluid and the coolant is going. Need some bushings and wiper fluid motor, gotta fix the door cards and the headliner...but IT IS NOT generic. 160k on the clock.

I think up to 2015 Es350's were mad in Japan. I think 2016 they moved stateside.
Correct, the 6th gen (VX60) was built in Japan until the 2016 model year when the NA market production started at the Georgetown factory in Kentucky. Reports have shown no downward trend in reliability for the facelifted 6th gen or the current 7th gen built here.

I managed to find a 3 year old 2015 Lexus ES350 with less than 10,000 miles 2 years ago. This was the last model before Lexus/Toyota went with the abomination of the front end.
Certified with 2 year maintenance warranty.
Small enough to drive around town and fit into tight parking spaces but big enough where it drives nicely on the freeway. I get 30 MPG on the highway and the engine has great acceleration to get you rolling when needed.
