Any non-hunters here? I've literally never been hunting.

Born and raised in south Louisiana, fished all my life and love it. I never had an interest in hunting even though my dad and brothers duck hunted religiously. As a young boy I remember feeling bad for the ducks when my dad was cleaning them so I never wanted to shoot one. I had no problem throwing a flapping trout into his icy grave in the igloo however. And no way would I ever shoot a deer or other animal.

I guess I'm a pussy.

Meh, you can keep a slightly smaller man card.

Had you grown up here and never fished or hunted then

Never been but I've been fishing tons of times all over and we always had guns in the house.

I gave it a go when I was young but it just wasn't for me. Freezing my balls off while keeping both quiet and still never appealed to me.

I've never been hunting either.

But this wasn't the reason

I'm just not a fan of waking up super early and sitting in the cold.

My Dad also isn't a hunter.

Love fishing.

Grew up here too and only been gator hunting a couple of times, which is more of a drinking sport. Zero interest in hunting for deer/duck. Too early and too cold.

I'm not going to call you a pussy, but I do find it really odd why some people have a problem with killing some things and not others. I don't get it. It is purely emotional. Why are you so emotional about some animals and not others?

Love to fish. Doing that since hell I could bait a hook

Never in my life have I wanted to shoot any type of living animal. Ever. I'll take cow over deer or any other type "hunted" meat.

Just me.

I don't think those who shoot animals for sport or "food" are trashy or anything....

Yeah frick that. If you feel bad then quit eating meat from the store.

I'd totally go hunting if invited. I love shooting.

Me neither. I'm not anti-hunting in any way. I do recall getting pissed at friends if they shot a bird with bb gun for no reason but that's not hunting.

Hunted quail with my grandpa as a child. Deer hunted a few times. That's about it.

But thank God for the hunters and their stockpile of guns. They will save us when the inevitable societal breakdown happens.

Yeah a buddy of mine here has said he could probably bring me on a hunt if I really wanted to. I will for sure.

Your dad never forced you to go ever?

Being raised by a hunter would have probably made me a hunter.

I understand pets. There is an obvious emotional attachment there.

But wild animals? Why the emotional attachment?

Why do some have no problem ripping a living fish out of the water to die an awful death in an ice chest, but would never shoot a deer with a rifle?

I don't get it.
