Over 15 years in football.
White hat does get $15 on top of the base fee.

Spent 10yrs as a JrHigh and HS Basketball Coach and then 7yrs as an LHSAA Basketball Official. Got to the Girls Top 28 my last year but moved to Texas and gave it up
I miss reffing, don’t miss coaching at all

like team K is in scrimmage kick formation and it is 4th and 8 at it's own 45 yard line. The ball is kicked and R receives it but during the kick prior to the ball crossing the neutral zone team R is guilty of a illegal block below the waist. Team R receives the ball and returns the ball to its own 30 where the ball is then fumbled and recovered by K - however during the play after the kick team K is guilty of a blindside block.
After the play a player for team R takes his helmet off and slams it into the ground on the field of play.
Field littered with yellow laundry!!
I would say K is assessed the penalty for block below the waist. 15 yards from the previous spot, replay 4th down. Then, the dead ball penalty unsportsmanlike is assessed against team R, 15 years from the new spot, and 1st down for team K.

I've never turned an assignment down. I think John Wooden said it best when he said "The problem with officials is they don't care who wins."
So contrary to popular belief... the officials don't hold any pre-conceived bias against any schools. At least not in my experience.

only by people that watch saturday and sunday football and think all the rules are the same...
i wish LHSAA would go back to the Saturday rules... we had them till about the mid 90s...
1981 through 1990 i believe.
some keys.. that get people..
1. ANY scrimmage kick that reaches the receivers goal line is a touchback - even if it is touched or muffed by R - of course if it is possessed by R before the ball reaches the goal line then some different things come into play.
2. There is NO uncatchable rule on pass interference - it is simply either PI or not...
3. Louisiana is experimenting with the same Intentional grounding rule as NCAA this year...

How much does that pay? It seems like that would be a fun way to make some exta money
I ran the numbers on it and between my self imposed rules study, film study, meetings, sub-varsity and varsity football it comes out to about $3.50/hour. Admittedly I probably do more film study than 95% of guys. I like to watch my game from last Friday night to see particular plays as well as self-evaluate. Then I will watch the most recent game of each of the two teams I will see this Friday for tendencies, the types of offense they run...etc.
I am trying to move to the next level within the next few years though. Some guys do it just for the game check, never look at their book after they take the test, and don't even know we have access to the game films. Their per hour pay is significantly higher than mine.

I do the same..... and I watch any film I can get my eyes on of the teams in future games. I had opportunities(and may still have) to go to other levels but....... I like friday nights... it's just that simple.

Yes I have. What do you want to know?

Nothing major. Just the town and athletic facilities. Hospitality and such

Mansfield has lost some its luster due to North Desoto high school's existence and a lot of its support. I have not been to the stadium in years but do know the Parish has spent a lot money from shale revenue on its schools and if it's anything like North Desoto`s facilities then they are nice.
As far as restaurants go I seem to remember a Cajun type place on Mansfield road. I wish I be more helpful, but do remember the people being very enthusiastic about their school in the past.

It's a nice field, turf. Right off of hwy 84.
Of you like Mexican food the Camellia grill is just east of the stadium. Billy B's is a cajun themed restaurant south of the 84 and 171 intersection on the outskirts of town.
I would make sure I had enough gas to avoid having to stop in Mansfield to buy it after the game. There is a gas station at the corner of 84 and 171.

Nah. Just don’t like when officials think they can lie to me and assume I’m ignorant to the rules.
I’ll say it has gotten way better in basketball.

Do you guys get HUDL subscriptions to look over past games as well?
One thing I kinda liked about AHSAA..there is no Certified/Registered levels. Everyone gets paid the same. For Varsity level games it's ~$80+travel for on field here.
We test open book for the Federation exam but we also have a Certification exam in October. They add up points and points rate you as a Class I-IV official....based on points and minimum 6 games on field at a position is what gets playoffs.
I used to hate the 150 T/F test for LHSAA.

I like the different levels - if you are worth it get more..
the 150 tf test is long long gone...... Now it's
If player 3 for team r is on his 10 to recieve a punt from team k the ball bounces in front of him and he attempts to field the punt but the ball deflects off his hand into the end zone. where it is recovered by team K.
do we have
a. a touchdown
b. a safety
c. a touchback
d. a bunch of parents wondering WTF just happened.
