Any flesh-eating bacteria along the AL/FL panhandle this summer?

I haven’t heard anything about it but I guess beach trips are just starting due to the quarantines. Anyone heard anything?

I looked at the testing done along the Alabama Gulf Coast and things looked good along the beaches.

Best I can remember it’s never been on the beaches. The media uses the ‘beaches’ to get views, but the bacteria normally is in the bays and backwater areas. It’s more a brackish water issue then gulf issue.

People were contracting it on coastal beaches quite a bit last year. Purple flags never disappeared while we were down.

It is more a brackish water issue. See Grand Isle and Mississippi.
Any one see the massive mounds of debris that washed up in Mississippi from this past Tropical Storm.

Purple flags were up last year but there was a lot of jelly fish out. I don’t think the flags were for bacteria.
We just got back from the beach and hadn’t heard anything about bacteria this year.
