Lower rates in winter and higher rates in summer so you "conserve energy".... My skepticism tells me not to do this, especially since they just happen to roll out the program during winter when your bill will be lowered. They're setting you up for the summertime butt pounding.

Louisiana needs energy deregulation to combat this nonsense.

Although the nonsense will increase but people will have many choices and plans. If they have high bills then its their own fault.

My largest bill is always in January. FTR: I have a solar system. It doesn't get me to $0 ever, but it helps. In January, there are just not enough sunny hours to off set heating the home at night. Months like March and October, my bill is around $30. We hardly run the air and there are a lot of sunny days.

If you think a regulated market is bad in LA, a deregged market would be 100 times worse being under the LPSC.

Perhaps but would bring out competition even though the LPSC would undoubtly favor certain providers and corruption will be rampant.

No way I’d do this as my bill is already $500 ish year round with levelized billing. My bills in the summer can push $750
