Good Lord. Do you have a data center in your house?

no just a 14 y.o. house with 3 Ac units, saltwater pool, ice maker, several computers, 2 fridges etc with someone always home. The 3 AC units are really the killer though. My bills in the winter are much lower than the summer. As the units die we will go to higher efficiency and we have taken some more steps to help.

I'd definitely be installing solar panels if my bill was $750/month

Deregulated energy markets are not cheaper than regulated markets, plus Louisiana is among the cheapest in the country.

I got it. They do not tell you what the peak times are for summer billing so I'm out.

Link? I live in Houston and my October bill for using 1,014 kwhr was $34.30. how many kwhr did you use and how much did you pay?

I have my choice of 64 providers and 314 different plans. Granted I shop around every year, but I get to choose the plan for the best savings. Who's your provider and how many choices do you have?

January is usually my largest month.

July, Aug, then January for me...funny how they are still charging a fuel charge...wish i had a old bill before Obama to see, but I think I remember them adding it when gas was over $4 a gallon...

Thanks for posting your bill. That is outrageous $175 for 1,400 kwhr or $161 without the security light. That's a ton of fees. Louisiana needs to do something to bring energy cost down and to make it more affordable like TX. I used over 2100 kwhr for a $158 bill

I chose a plan with an $85 bill credit when using over 1,000 kwhr. Almost all homes in Houston have smart meters and can keep track of your usuage daily so its not difficult to make sure you hit 1,000 kwhr. In the spring and summer its not a problem at all. But you have many choices of providers and plans.

I always lock into a plan in early March when rates are the cheapest. Its nice to have options and cheap electric. If someone has a high electric bill its the persons fault for not locking into a plan when rates are cheapest or selecting the right plan for them.

have levelized billing. Mine is about $195 every month give or take $10.

I used to to that with entergy but seems like they were making out ahead. My bill doesn’t normally exceed 110-120/mo during the summer and it’s below $100 now.
