What do you like about your car? What do you dislike?

My sister has one that I drive from time to time. It has incredible power but I feel like it drives like a boat.

Loved it when it was under warranty, fun to drive, descent looking crossover type suv.

Hated it when it was out of warranty. The smallest repairs cost a shite ton and seemed to happen very frequently. Now with that being said, it had issues under warranty but they fixed it and gave you a loaner car to use so it wasn't a big deal.

Conclusion.. Never own a BMW out of warranty.

Thanks. Guess I'll be sticking w/ my 4runner then. (they are amazingly about the same price for a 2011 w/ comparable miles)

I really liked the older X5 (2005 or older) than the new ones. The dash in the new ones is a little plain IMO, and for the price tag I think there are better cars out there.

FWIW I've had 3 BMWs and loved every single one of them, but as another poster said, if it's not under warranty, RUN.

If you want a bit more luxury over a 4runner, have you looked at the lexus gx 460? I believe it's priced similarly to the X5.

Yeah, but they are outta my price range. Trying to stay at $30k or below and no older than a 2011.

You found an X5 for cheaper?

ETA, I'm guessing, perhaps, they hold their value more than the X5, which is indicative of some of what has been posted here, I suppose.

I'm not sure what your price range is, but as far as "luxury" SUVs go, the M Class is hands down my favorite. But the Audi Q7 is really nice too. Nicer than the X5 IMO.

I knew I would own the 5 series long after the warranty so I stayed away from turbo charged engines (basically impossible now) and automatic transmissions (same). Outside of that I'd rather a BMW long term over any other make.

There is a reason BMWs and Mercedes lose so much value in the 2ndry mkt.

My dad is on his 3rd or 4th. He likes the ride height, the handling, and the quickness; in addition to to the obvious stuff.

I have a 2011 35i. It's got a lot of power and is pretty fun to drive for an SUV. If you want more of a luxury drive look at lexus. I have an extended warranty and it's a must. The drive shaft went out a month ago and fricked up a lot of stuff but cost me nothing. It was an impulse buy and I wouldn't do it again, but it's a good looking SUV. Stick with toyota or lexus. Much more reliable.

I almost bought a 2014 x5 last month but decided to go with a toyota landcruiser instead. The inside of the x5 was much nicer and looks great but, the toyota dealership was in my area and I didn't want to have to drive an hour away to have it worked on. If Lake Charles had a bmw dealership I probably would have went with the x5.

My mom had a land cruiser for a year and HATED it. This was the last year before they changed the body and she couldn't stand the ride. I loved it, she didn't.

Traction control on mine is the sh*t. Rides very well and is quiet on the highway - something I specifically purchased it for.
