Next, she is 25 and works in film though not really sure what she does. I just know she's constantly moving around town and apparently works 12 hour days every week.

Depends on her job. I was a Production Manager and I would work 12 hours a day in pre, 15+ during production, and then back to 12 in post. She will be tired as frick when she's not at work. If she's like most in film, she's freelance which means she won't be able to plan ahead for vacations or anything because she may think she'll be off for ____ but then a movie/TV show comes along and you don't pass it up as you may not get another gig for a while.

I left that industry for those reasons I listed and because they don't pay people in production good enough. When you break down how many hours / $, you can make that money working in any field. Now if she's above the line then she's making good money and her hours might not always be crazy and she'll have a little more freedom. Either way, first date and she's telling you this means she might not be that into you, sorry bruh.

Yeah, that's essentially what she's doing. Though I'm pretty sure she's near the bottom of the totem pole as she drives a pretty crappy car and living w/ 4 roommates who are all in the same field.

Then she's probably just a PA and will work lots of hours for even less money. Her "career" will take a long time to develop especially in L.A. As far as not being able to communicate, that would only be while she's at the office and if she goes on set. Otherwise, she'll be in the car a lot going to pick stuff up and running errands. She could easily touch base. She's maybe telling you in a nice way she's not in to you or she's not yet at least. It's up to you if you want to go further, but I can tell you from when I was a PA, I worked a lot and was tired a lot but I still hung out with friends and had a gf.

Female engineers are like this. They are all career first and while most aren't much to look at, even the few who are worth laying next to have gotta be terrible at relationships. I couldn't be with a career chick unless she knew how to turn it off when it came time to a family. Money isn't everything.

if you are something like an editor and can get a job at production house you can easily make 6 figures and have a decent amount of security.

Sure, but I'm pretty sure those have access to occasional texts and phone calls.

So you say. Good friend of mine recently broke up with a chick like this. She NEVER put him or their relationship first. She is a nurse and would constantly pick up extra shifts....including on nights that he had already made plans for them(he would be on his way to pick her up and she would text him saying "sorry, gotta work tonight"). Crazy thing is this chick is like 35 and thinks she can keep acting like this. She wants kids, but not until after she is 40. She is gonna be in for a rude awakening when she is 40 and no man wants her crazy self.

40? Does she think of herself as a celebrity or something? 40 seems a bit on the unsafe side in terms of risks pertaining to birth defects. How as a nurse, is she not aware of these risks?

That's what I didn't get. She is a nurse, she should be fully aware of all the major risks of being pregnant after 40. I'm a nurse and because I know of all the risks....I refuse to be pregnant after 40.

Okay, i should have read further.

Started talking to this girl and everything went smoothly but she made it pretty clear that her job will always come first and can sometimes go a day or two without texting/calling.

Also, to address the "day or two without calling/texting". Are you serious ? She gets NO breaks ever? She can't even talk for 5 minutes? I think thats so much bullshite. Doesn't sound reasonable at all.

Put your dick first.

Cheat!

You got a get out of jail free card. Just one though. So pick wisely. And if that fling turns out to be something? Win-win.

I don't think I'd call them "career chicks". I think you can be very ambitious and career-oriented, and still keep life in perspective. If your job is helping people...okay, thats one thing (non-profit or the like), but if its just about them ranking up on the ladder....sounds like an immature person IMO. You have to question whether or not they'll be able to make good decisions regarding a potential family (if it got to that point).
