The mrs would like one and used prices are starting to come into non-ot baller range. Looking for thoughts, problems, reviews, pros/cons.

I've driven my dads Yukon a decent bit and the ride and comfort is REALLLLLY nice. I drive a Ford now, but used to have an 09 Tahoe and I'll give Chevy/GMC credit that they are way more comfortable than most.

We have a 15 Yukon XL. It's the best vehicle we've owned. We've had Tahoe, Subrban, Yukon, Yukon XL (99,02,07,09,15). This one is far and away the best we've had. It's so quiet on the highway. Also has very good power for it's size.

It looks like a bag of assholes though. I hate the shoebox body style they went to. I had a 99 that was bad arse back in the day. 350 and all.

Wife likes the Yukon better. I don't really care other than not spending $60k on a car.
My price point will fall somewhere in the price range of $38k-$42k depending on the deal. : )
Any quality issues? A friend has an enclave that he's always bitching about being poor quality. But he also does by properly maintain anything he owns so it's no surprise everything he owns goes to shite.

I have a 2015 Tahoe LT that I love. However, it has developed a rattle where the seatbelt meets the truck by my left ear while driving. Apparently, GM has not found a fix yet is what I am being told. They offered to keep it for as long as it takes and give me a loaner, but I told them to just call me when they figure out fix. They have a suburban with the same problem that has been in the shop for a month and a half and they can't figure it out. They have flown down a GM engineer to help figure it out.

That's not the 15/16 model
They're more hearsier than the earlier models.

Read the GM forums...these models have some kind of design problems causing pressure problems. People are having headaches and ear popping and GM has been buying them back.

They are like riding around in your living room ... great for long trips but inconvenient/overkill for every day use.

They STILL - in the year 2015 - can't make DRL's that work. This has been an issue since 1999. Kind of a metaphor for the whole company, really. (and no the light is not out because the blinker was on - this guy was behind me for many miles).

I'll look into the pressure issue. That's weird.
We live in the country so I'm not worried about it being too big. Our current family vehicle is my crew cab pickup because my wife's car is too small to efficiently move us around with two car seats. Space would be a welcome addition.

Those are LEDs too, aren't they?

Yep. And both lights use the same fuse, so it's not that.

I drove a 2014 Tahoe for a week (in mid 2013) and just rented a 2014 Suburban for the last 10 days. Honestly I've been impressed by some of the features, handling, power, etc. The Tahoe was well equipped and the Suburban was completely maxed out (HUD, every monitor and sensor imaginable, best sound system I've ever used in a car (though there was some lag with the USB-iPod interface)) decent highway milage.
I drive a well-kept 3-series bimmer that I've owned for over 9 years and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep it and buy a 435 or M4 coupe next year, but I've given some hard thought to a Tahoe (or Yukon). They've definitely manned them back up. The interior dimensions were not made for anyone under about 5'10, and there is a ton of power under the hood.

that's wild! i just looked up a forum about this guy who looks like had his truck partially taken apart looking for the noise. apparently it's like having your windows down while driving (except they aren't). that would have to be really annoying
quote:
ANYONE ELSE HEARING LIKE A BUFFERING SOUND? MAKES YOUR EARS FEEL LIKE THE WINDOW IS DOWN, BUT IT IS NOT? I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY HEARD IT. WE GOT IN ANOTHER 2015 YUKON XL AND HEARD THE SAME NOISE. THE TECH SAID IT MUST BE A BUFFER OR SOMETHING, AND THAT GMC WILL HAVE TO ISSUE A FIX. ALMOST FEELS LIKE A VACCUM OR SOMETHING. IT'S THE SAME FEELING YOU WOULD ENCOUNTER WHEN A WINDOW IS DOWN AND YOU FEEL A RUMBLING SOUND IN YOUR EARS.

Seriously? Shoebox is better than that curvy bullshite you see in crossovers.
This is easily one of the better looking cars on the road...
