Wait until you find out just how bad it is there in Louisiana. Best thing I ever did was gtfo.

Meh. I've been to 46 states and there are many places in the US I'd live in Louisiana over.

Damn, I thought you had some inside info on weed being legalized here. Good luck to you on the move. I honestly have no idea why I stay in this state. I guess it has to be the food and football.

Well you’re single with no kids so that’s a plus. You are only a fairly short plane ride away. Don’t get too uptight about it. Hell, I moved 9,000 miles away from everyone I knew for five years and it turned out great. I only came back due to opportunities that came up. Otherwise, I could still be there. You’ll be fine. They’ll be fine.

Outside of her parents, everyone else in her family seems to act like she doesn't exist. I noticed some posts earlier in this thread that state, "Money isn't everything" and "Friends and family are worth more than money". I wonder if this is a cultural thing in South LA?

This attitude definitely exists.....my wife has a couple friends that are like this, the whole "why would you wanna live anywhere else" they don't understand that some of us want more opportunity than Louisana can offer. They're mostly small minded people.

Lol ok...

Go spend a week in Vineland, NJ and then on the north shore and come post your thoughts. I'll add Warren, OH, Ripley, WV. Quality of life is fairly localized in every state.

I'd live in Mandeville over Midland, TX for example.

It wouldn’t be ranked 50th this year and 49,48 or maybe 47th all these previous years if it wasn’t actually bad.

It’s a bad place to live. Face it.

Here are the average temperatures for Cleveland by month: LINK

High °F Low °F Month
34 22 January
38 24 February
47 30 March
59 40 April
70 50 May
79 60 June
83 64 July
81 63 August
74 56 September
62 45 October
51 37 November
38 26 December

The average low in April is 40. Can it snow in April? Sure. Will you be "snowed in" into April? No.

And as for wearing winter clothing into June, either you're a giant fricking pussy and need winter clothing when it's 60 degrees out, or you're full of shite and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about per usual.

I am a witness to you talking out of your arse.

Taken as a whole I agree. But quality of life is mostly localized which is what people fail to take into account.

I've traveled the US fairly extensively for work in a previous job as a sales and implementation engineer. I spent from 2 weeks up to a year off and on in various states.

I'd live in Lafayette over Cleveland. I'd live in Huntsville over Grambling. I'd live in Baton Rouge over Toledo. You can't really paint it with a broad brush like the OT loves to.

You named the ONE good place to live in the whole state of LA and compared it to ONE of the not good places in Texas.

Ok dude... good comparison. You win. Louisiana really is good and not as bad as everyone thinks

Amen brother. I've been to dozens of places I'd live in BR, Nola, Laffy over. But that US News ranking though

Did the same thing in 2004. Moved to VA without knowing a soul other than my wife. Best decision I ever made. You can always come back, but it will be good for you no matter what, IMO.

I did the same thing when I move from Baton Rouge to Kansas City. I was scared to death but excited. My dad even told me he didn’t think he could do that. I didn’t know a soul and drove a Uhaul the entire way. Best move I have ever made. Lived there from age 25-29. I grew up so much it is hard to believe how much stepping out of your comfort zone can do for you. You will never be as afraid to shed your skin again. I made life long friends, broke a few hearts and one break mine. It was a great time in life.

Left and could never imagine living back in La. Congrats on the promotion. There's nothing wrong with Ohio, except the snow and the rain. I really like Drew Carey and I'd love to see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
