This reminds me of the "sit in" that occurred in NOLA's City Park when they finally started to develop the new South Course. There were protesters camped out in the area between Harrison & Filmore. One or two stayed in a tree and refused to come out. I don't recall any violence. I think they gave up when they were running out of food & water.

Paid agitators. None of these pieces of shite work, so their funding sources need to be found and cut off. Unfortunately, there are very powerful people who will ever prevent this from happening.

On Wednesday morning, the GBI and several other law enforcement agencies conducted a “planned clearing operation” at the site to remove people in the area and an individual allegedly “without warning shot a Georgia State Patrol Trooper,” GBI Director Mike Register said in a news briefing.

“Law enforcement personnel returned fire in self-defense and evacuated the trooper to a safe area. The individual who fired upon law enforcement and shot the trooper was killed in an exchange of gunfire,” Register said.

After this the cops should have called in swat and all available officers from all over Georga, distributed night vision, waited till night fall and went in.
Survives, if any, should have been charged with attempted murder and anything else they could think of. No bail!

They've been there for awhile. They tried to set a local man on fire this summer. It's pretty absurd they haven't gotten rid of them yet.

real answer?

They're genuinely lost, desperate and broken people looking for meaning. That's the case with most radicals. It's just more amusing in 2023 because finding causes to go along with their misconstrued grievances is harder. Hence you have this confused anti-Police, Greenpeace, racial justice thing going on. They're grasping for anything to give them purpose and will travel to anyplace where there is action.

Tree huggers don't mess around. I remember there were a UC Berkeley tree protest back in Dec 2006 and it lasted 649 days. They wanted to cut down a grove of trees to build an athletic training center for Cal's football team. The longest tree protest lasted 738 days to save some redwoods in Humbolt County.

Wasps, copperheads and spiders might get them moving a bit.

Same people vandalized the HQ of the GC, Brassfield & Gorrie, in Birmingham as well as the home of their Chairman of the Board back in the fall.

Local radio news here says the group is promising a "night of violence" on Friday.

Kemp and AG taking it seriously but ATL mayor is absent.

ANTIFA doesn't have any real reach here. Obviously they could commit some one off attacks on police, but not on any real scale.

Now, if they can combine with the Memphis thing - maybe. But I don't think there will be any groundswell on that for a few more days (if ever).
