I did not say they did. I said the broke the law in an attempt to keep others from free speech. Is this not accurate?

You are correct, but physical violence is illegal when committed against someone doing a legal protest.

Kind of like you supporting the freedom of protesters, even though many of them are breaking the law?

Never once did that. I support their right to do so only within the confines of the law.

I don't usually condone violence. But in the case of limp wristed pansies wanting to burn the flag I spent a good chunk of my adult life defending, they deserve to get their asses kicked.

Well he's right. You can't purport to care about the constitution and then go and support people being physically prevented from engaging in the first amendment, as much as I'd like to see them get their asses kicked.

The city/state didn't stop their exercise of free speech. If the cops had, it would be constitutional hypocrisy on the part of the OT who think this was funny. Since most of us think their form of expression is misguided and pathetic, we think it is funny and ironic.

You have to see the irony of the situation.

Freedom of Speech/Expression is not Freedom from Consequences.

I'll be glad to arrange a meeting for you two to discuss the matter face to face if you like.

Violently preventing someone from exercising their First Amendment rights is illegal, but worse, it's un-American. Those of you who are cheering this should reflect on what's really important--our Constitutional right to free speech and peaceable assembly.

Correct, but we have laws that outlaw violence, and the bikers used violence to prevent the protesters from exercising their Constitutional rights.

When people make the distinction about Freedom of Speech and Freedom from Consequences, they're usually referring to the fact that you will be judged by your speech, and you could face social consequences (like people not liking you, people not wanting to associate with you, and people not wanting to do business with you).

They're not talking about violence.

While it’s illegal to openly burn anything in Fort Greene Park, the self-styled anarchists managed to find a loophole in the law that allows cooking in closed barbecue grills. Thus, they started to roast the flag, but they didn’t burn it for long. One of the bikers rushed forward in a fit of rage and kicked over the grill, sending embers flying. He then doused it as members of the pro-flag crowd chanted “USA! USA!”

The police should have made the protesters eat the flag that they were "cooking" or cite them for openly burning.

Anti-cop group attacked by bikers while burning the American flag by LSUTANGERINE Let's see. One group was not breaking the law. The other group did with assault and battery. Hopefully the bikers were arrested Gotta love the right to free speech, except if someone disagrees with it .Murica!
