Let's see. One group was not breaking the law. The other group did with assault and battery. Hopefully the bikers were arrested Gotta love the right to free speech, except if someone disagrees with it .Murica!

The anarchists had announced on social media that they had planned to burn the flag in protest of NYPD policies, drawing a large group of flag-waving counterprotesters, including the bikers.
While it’s illegal to openly burn anything in Fort Greene Park, the self-styled anarchists managed to find a loophole in the law that allows cooking in closed barbecue grills.
Thus, they started to roast the flag, but they didn’t burn it for long. One of the bikers rushed forward in a fit of rage and kicked over the grill, sending embers flying. He then doused it as members of the pro-flag crowd chanted “USA! USA!”
The bikers then started trying to rough up the protesters — who were quickly saved by members of the same police force that they criticize.
The protesters were shielded by the cops and escorted out of the park.
They're all about anarchy until they get a little taste of real anarchy.
BTW, looks like these guys support 81 from this picture....

The irony is just.....damn. what goes through the mind of a flag burning anti cop protester who just got they butts saved by three very same people they protesr?
They are not against all or even most police. The protests are about police who break the law and abuse their power. There is a difference

According to the article they're Anarchist which by definition makes them anti-police. In fact, it makes them anti-everything.

So what you're saying is that you're a supporter of Westboro Baptist Church? Because they are the most tasteless, classless, worthless pieces of amphibian shite that have ever disgraced this Earth, but are never quite breaking the law.
Any by the way, freedom of speech goes away when it is considered inflammatory and looking to incite violence. If the masses don't like it, they voice their opinion. Sometimes with fists. Personally, when the flag is being burned (against the code of flag handling, mind you), it kind of fires me up (pardon the expression)

BTW, what these bikers did was less violent than what we've seen from the BLM movement. And as the Obama and the MSM keeps reminding us, BLM is a totally "peaceful" movement.

Try burning a flag in Russia or China and see how far you get. Just because I disagree with the action doesn't mean I can't be happy for the freedom that allows such action.
this deserves an upvote. Being allowed to be a dipshit like that in public without being imprisoned or executed makes us better than China and Russia. The day we start cracking skulls on people for burning flags is the day we become one of those countries.

Well he's right. You can't purport to care about the constitution and then go and support people being physically prevented from engaging in the first amendment, as much as I'd like to see them get their asses kicked.

That's funny the Supreme Court has ruled flag burning protected speech. Where did you get your JD again?

Has nothing to do with his obvious narrative on this board. He waits for a thread where most posters are in agreement, and then comes in and starts arguing the opposite to just rile people up.
It's amazing he hasn't been banned.

To be fair, this has as much to do with the first amendment as a situation where someone runs up and steals a gun off of someone's hip has to do with the second amendment. Both are illegal, but neither have to do with constitutional rights.

No. I am, however, supportive of their rights to express their tasteless views, no matter how much I disagree with them . I am supportive of their rights to do so within the confines of the law. Regarding the OP, the right to burn a flag is protected by law. I am supportive of others expressing their views and actions against both of the above, within the confines of the law. I am not supportive of them doing so outside the confines of the law, which apparently the bikers did.

Again, apparently many here, if not most, support free-speech, as long as they agree with the speech. You know the mantra that most here state, "don't break the law". How come it doesn't apply here? Hypocrisy at its best

Unless the bikers are members of congress or agents of the Federal government, they cannot violate the 1st Amendment.
Posted on 7/11/16 at 4:25 pm to LSUTANGERINE
I support their freedom to burn the flag. I also support the freedom of the bikers to kick their arse. It's their freedom to respond and accept the consequences of their actions.
Kind of like you supporting the freedom of protesters, even though many of them are breaking the law? Did you support Rosa Parks when she broke the law and sat in the front of the bus? If so, you're being a hypocrite in this thread.

Get out of here with that rational line of thinking
