It's very real, but it doesn't come from white people like the media tells you it does. Blacks hate Asians and are using this cover to assault them at every opportunity.

I have never in my life witnessed one single incident of Anti-Asian racism, and lord knows, being from the south where we’ve all had it drilled into our heads that if there’s going to be racism, then it’s certainly going to be from the deep south, that’s saying something.
People from the south love Asian people because they believe in family values and education. Which is why the left considers Asian people minorities only when it’s convenient.

If you don’t feel as if you are getting played, then there’s no hope for you. The above is a message from the Ad Council, and the thing that gets me most about all of this is how it came out of nowhere, and virtually overnight it was sprung on us all via the MSM News outlets, campaigns, and celebrities who are treating it as if it’s an epidemic we are all already aware exists.

I call 100% bullshite on this. If this were 60 or 70 years ago when we were fighting Imperial Japan, I’d say there’s a real case to be made for it, but those days are long long gone. If anything, there’s nothing but respect for Asians today as hard working people with beautiful unique cultures of hard working people. I’ve never once seen it.
I am Asian, and you are on some BS; chances are, you don't live in an area with a high Asian population. That said, I'm not going to say that it's everywhere; most people leave me alone. I have been told to go back to China (I am not from China) on numerous occasions and was twice told that "it was a shame that we didn't finish you all off at Nagasaki and Hiroshima" (I'm not Japanese either). I don't really care; it is what it is. I get a lot of it from African-Americans (mostly the fake chinese, or the occasional "chink", or "Jackie Chan". It is what it is, and I'm not going to make a big deal about it; if people want to be stupid, it's on them. That said, to deny it's existence is idiotic at best.

Damn. I’m sorry that happened to you. Those were some really shitty things to say.

Sure we have Vietnamese in NOLA, but growing up in rural LA I can promise you there were no Asians.
Rural Louisiana. Yes.
Baton Rouge and New Orleans both have neighborhoods that are predominantly Vietnamese. Not exactly giant sections of town like Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Chicago....but they exist in New Orleans East and parts of N. Sherwood in Baton Rouge.
BTW Vietnamese restaurants in some Louisiana cities are low key awesome. Even the ones that are generic "Asian" restaurants are very good.

Has their been an uptick recently? Because that seems to have been a problem for years. Not sure how to stop it other than to point out that, like everyone else, African Americans are more than capable of being racist pricks.

A pretty good bit. Are you under the impression there aren't any Asians here?

That’s happened to white people too, but there’s no ad council campaign to bring attention to anti-white racism.
As a white man, I have been profiled and harassed by the police before. Late one night I was pulled over and questioned, my car searched, etc...because, from what one of the officers who happened to be black said, I looked suspicious being white in a predominantly black neighborhood where they have drug issues at 1am, when the reality of the situation was I was picking my girlfriend up from her grandmother's house...her grandmother being in the neighborhood for umpteen years...they released me after about 1.5 hours of harassment on the scene.
Did I have anyone/any entity to go bitching and crying to about this OVERT racial profiling? Hell no! I would venture this happens a lot but we never hear about it...it is all supposed to be a one way only deal. Sorry but that's not true at all!

Yeah, lots of black people hate Asians and rob and beat them.

Viet Garden is one of my favorites. Their Pho is IMO stellar. Very nice people that run the place too. Pre-Covid crap I ate there a bunch. This is a reminder for me to go back. I was on a ramen kick for a while from Chow Yum Phat, still am, but I miss VG. Solid eats.

There is actual institutional racism against Asians and it is growing rampant. I’m talking about magnet schools and good universities.
Many of these institutions make Asians score higher because they believe there are “too many Asians” getting in.

1.8% of Louisiana's population is Asian as of 2019. That is roughly 83000-84000 people. The huge Vietnamese population in NOLA and Baton Rouge accounts for a large majority of that. Oakdale, Pierre Part, and Bawcomville have little to no Asian community.
Mississippi has roughly 33k Asians, a large majority live on the coast. There is little to no Asian representation in the Delta,
Why is it controversial to say there aren't a lot of Asians in the south? This place is weird af sometimes.

Not really; it's been going on for years. It does not happen often, but it has, and it still exists. It does not bother me much at all; in fact, I mostly laugh, tbh. I did have one professor give me some crap, but he's no longer teaching (fired for similar reasons, but not because of me). My older brother got it a lot worse.
