I guess the stupid fricking OT answer “Get out and exercise, it will absolve you of depression” didn’t apply in this case.

Lately? Dude's been upset forever, mad and depressed at the world. I enjoyed his show because he did so many things no one else did, I love travel food shows. But part of his show has always been bringing to life the darkness and issues of anywhere he visited.

That is very true and it was part of what I really liked about his shows.

Bourdain probably had the most impact in the last 2 decades concerning people's willingness and desire to travel, try new foods, and just try new experiences than anybody else

You know I hadn't thought about this until now, but you're probably right. I'm more interested in travelling to places that aren't resorts or cruises and completely ok with being uncomfortable and having to work for it on vacation more than most people probably because I have watched his show for the last 10 years and been OK with that.

I don't agree with or care about the guy's politics, but I loved Raw Craft on YouTube and appreciated his appreciation for hand made stuff much like myself.

Bourdain had the best job in the world. I'd have traded places with him in a heartbeat.

This is unfathomable to me

Yeah, no shite. I feel pretty sure Trump was not on his mind when he kicked the stool out from under him. This just shows how morally disgusting the average politard actually is. Anthony Bordain was fricked up and had issues. He was open about this. It's very sad that his demons conquered him.

shite. That’s next level dark. That’s intentionally going out with suffering and certainly adds some dramatic effect

He had been posting a bunch of stuff on his Instagram about Harvey Weinstein and what he did to his girlfriend... wonder if that somehow got too much for him.

It’s not any more terrible than than anyone else that passed away. yesterday

While he was just another person, it always seems more terrible to me when someone takes their life compared to someone that has a natural death. They kill themselves because of some kind of anguish or sadness they had and that seems pretty damn terrible to me.
