The dems moan and groan about climate, yet China don't give a frick.

Don't we learn in kindergarten the they did it so I'm gonna do it too logic isn't sound?

So if the world is warming what are we doing to prepare for it? Why do we attack the “causes” like we can reverse it. Sounds like we’re not having the right conversation.

EVER RECORDED
According to The Guardian, the temperature records for this recording station start in...
1961.

You do realize that they take ice cores and can track annual temperatures over thousands of years with impressive precision? Do you question people who tell you how old a tree is, too?
Science has a pretty good record of being correct when compared to climate propaganda distributed by O&G companies. But you go on believing the O&G companies, bud.

Do you know if they’re referencing historical ice cores or actual recorded temperature readings upon which to base this statement, though? The article does say “recorded.”

Stop. He really felt like he had a huge gotcha moment there

All told, Antarctica's ice sheet contains enough water to raise global sea levels by nearly 200 feet, the WMO says.
i read it was 80 but anything over 15 feet would impress all usa major cities but chicago.
The one ive been looking for is cooking in arctic.
Ocean circulation, gulf stream, is threatened by current situation in tte arctic gyre which usually alternates clockwise and counterclockwise but instead is speeding up in one direction.
Most of europe is way north.
Its going to be way colder.
Crops screwed.

A dude posts a random thread pointing out that Antarctica has reached extraordinarily high temperatures. Nothing about man-made climate change. Nothing about politics. Just pointing out that it's probably not a good thing that Antarctica is so fricking warm.
What happens?
4 pages of blasting dems, calling climate change a hoax, calling the data into question, etc...
And I'm the one, by pointing out ice cores distinctly tell us the caps are melting at unprecedented rates, who thinks he got the "huge gotcha" moment?
Whether you believe it's man made or not, the caps melting and Antarctica hitting 65 degrees is not a good thing and it shouldn't be particularly controversial to say so.

You didn’t answer my question.

I have no idea. I'm not a climatologist, nor did I author the article. My point was that, like trees, they know about historical temperatures, melts, precipitation, etc. It's likely a safe bet that the cores have never shown this much melting in a season prior to temp records being taken so logic dictates that this is the highest temp in "recorded" history (at least as far back as their core data captures).

I wouldn’t bet MY house on it.

If your house is near the coast, you don't have much say in the matter. You've already placed your bet.

I wonder if temperature and climate fluctuations are at all affected by the migration and changes of earth’s magnetic field/polarity and tectonics?
Nope.
Say baw, it’s F250’s rollin’ coal and not closing the door when the air is on.

Atlanta? Charlotte? Nashville? Pittsburgh? Minneapolis? That last could go on and on of cities that would not be hurt by 15 feet of sea level rise.

When the Vikings landed in the Nova Scotia/Maine area there were grapes in abundance, long before Columbus (~1000 AD). They called North America Vinland there were so many grapes. Ain't none growing there now, it's too cold.
There's also the written and pictographic records of Europe showing colder and warmer (both) crops at the same locations.
The Siberian fossils and frozen animals indicate the freeze happened rather rapidly from a much warmer climate. And the frozen species are in abundance both numerically and variety.
So show us where it is harmful to have a warmer Earth.

They try to correlate things like ice cores and tree rings to today’s temperature records but those are fraught with issues.
We have plenty of evidence that it was warmer 1000 years ago when the Vikings were able to settle parts of Greenland and had sheep (not possible today).
