Okay, I got a plan y’all. Build a giant man-made lake in California since they are always having droughts. Get a bunch of ships and transport a bunch of that delicious fresh water Antarctic glacier ice back to California and create a giant freshwater lake.

Problem solved. Next question.

RECORDED

EVER RECORDED

According to The Guardian, the temperature records for this recording station start in...

1961.

Meaningless since direct reading climate data for Antarctica only goes back to the mid 1940s

Noontime Saturday (CST) 17:50 Z feb 08

Amundsen-Scott Airport /South Pole had a temperature of M26 C = -14.8 Degrees F.

No where near 65 F ~ 18 Degrees C
By the way , it’s summertime in Southern Hemisphere.

All told, Antarctica's ice sheet contains enough water to raise global sea levels by nearly 200 feet, the WMO says.

We've been hearing this for years, have we had any coastal city go under water yet?

Everyone in this thread is pretty confident, but at what confidence level would you actually think something needs to change. Let's say you are 90 percent confident based on all your scientific research that climate change poses no long term problems for us, are you willing to gamble your children's future on being 90 percent certain? 80 percent? 50?

What is the real problem with trying to be better and advance technology even if it may not be necessary?

I am sure this is a silly question as all of you are 100 percent certain we will drown in a sea of truck nuts before something like our food or water supply is actually impacted.

The weathermen can barely give you an accurate forecast for the next 5 days, and you want me to trust someone who is trying to predict the weather for the next hundred years.

Bamaclown, do you know what the effect of actually enacting a strict carbon tax on the US and Europe on temperatures in 50 and 100 years (if you accept the assumptions in the models)?

The Antarctic peninsula where the record-breaking temperature was measured

This is a false statement. It has been hotter than 65 degrees F in Antartica. We just were not measuring back then. The earth is constantly warming or cooling. These trends last a long time. Whatever the trend is when man starts measuring will cause the simpleton (Al Gore) to think there is a catastrophic warming, or cooling trend.

excellent point.

... in our house, we keep the downstairs temp set at 72 and upstairs 74 so the heat will stay on up upstairs...

the rising heat messes up my upstairs thermostat...thus the bedrooms can get cold at night if I have them both set to 74

Do you know what a 3 degree increase in ocean temperature does to sea life and oxygen levels?

I suppose you just want to find out because of muh economies.

Besides the fact I never mentioned models, I don't know why when people assume models are incorrect, they are going to be wrong in their favor. I simply asked what amount of risk you are willing to take on your kids lives.
