It’s the VFW in Fairhope.
We have the boil there every year.

I will say I don’t mind pineapple chunks or button mushrooms in the boil. Both mediums soak up the flavor and are absolutely delicious

This crawfish boiling outside of southern Louisiana is getting out of hand. Boiling should be illegal outside of longitude of the Sabine River and the Pascagoula River and north of the latitude of Alexandria, LA and in Lafayette where they boil in plain water and put the seasoning on in an ice chest.

I was there. My dad and brother have crawfish ponds in Vermillion parish. Needless to say I’ve eaten a lot crawfish. I ate 6 and was done. Watched them boil, no soak, then dump into ice chest and pour Italian dressing, mustard, lemon juice and liquid butter on them. Crawfish had no juice and almost tasted raw. My fingers had more seasoning.

It was at the VFW. They have now condemned the building since Sally. Lost liquor license also so it was BYOB. Supposedly they are demolishing and building a new one.

I’ve seen the videos but never witnessed it in real life until yesterday. Needless to say, besides the oysters I ate from Navy Cove, i stopped at Popeyes on the way home. Would have hit Dragonfly but my toddler was cranky.

I could maybe tolerate mustard, and certainly lime juice I’m ok with but Italian dressing? No need to make them all greasy

My friends dad always just did a regular boil, except he would “dust” them in crystal hot sauce, which I’m a sucker for, but I really just don’t understand why people are going nuts adding crazy shite after they are boiled. They been soaking for 30 damn minutes and you don’t eat the shells.

It wasn’t my place, as I rarely go to the board meetings. I did bring it up to the president, like “is that Italian dressing they’re putting on”?
She replied yes, but ppl seem to like it.

There were A TON of leftovers. They were giving them away towards the end.

As another poster said, I stopped off at bbq place on way back to Gulf Shores.
