I didn’t say that -I don’t think they should be privileged with three meals a day

For sure one meal, they can work for the second

However, death isn't really a punishment, as soon as it's over you aren't being punished at all.

There's that whole loss of life and liberty thing that most people seem to value

You punish a living person. You can't punish a dead person.

You're depriving a living person of reentering society if something about the trial comes out after death.

Dead people can't be re-alived.

I doubt they'll be that upset about it after death.

Hope the execution goes through.

Nothing puts a spring in my step more than hearing news reports of my state of Texas dispatching some scumbag to hell.

Well, other than an armed vigilante dispatching some scumbag to hell, before they even get a chance to get entwined in our farcical legal system that houses and feeds these cretins for two decades.

You may actually be the retard if you think a liberal wants abortions to be stopped.

BTW I'm not a liberal or conservative.

I think for myself and have no problem forming my own opinions on matter important to me.

You'll do anything to spare a criminal while supporting abortion... you're not someone I respect.

a 2 year old doesnt end up with bruises and other injuries severe enough to kill them. unless someone did bad things to them. Mom either did it, or stood back and allowed it happen

Throw in a couple abortions while picketing an execution and you have their entire parties moral makeup.

Its just a philosophical question. Killing someone is a punishment, being dead is not a punishment. If I get sideswiped on my way home and die, my family will be upset. I however might not even be aware it happened

I tend to think of life as a gift, and depriving that opportunity as punishment from both self and loved ones.

If that's not true, then by your thinking killing shouldn't be a crime, since death is nothing more than ending of life, and they don't feel any pain after death.

In 2022 which was also the year of your article in link:
quote:

the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted her a stay of execution, delaying her death so Lucio’s trial court can explore whether she should receive a new trial.

Articles are coming from her attorney and project innocence’s claims back in 2022.

Some of these claims seem dependent on who is going to represent the state or county, and how the current DA challenges it or doesn’t.

I am guessing for the OP to have been started the trial court didn’t agree with claims, but I have not found a current update. (EDIT: likely still on death row waiting for the trial court still).

Regardless, her actions resulted in the death of her daughter.

The crime is the act committed against the living person. Is there such a thing as a crime committed against a dead person? Obviously you can commit a crime against a corpse. But that is a corpse, not a person.

Many legal rules suggest that the dead do not have rights. Often, the dead cannot marry, divorce, or vote. The executor of an estate cannot sue for the libel or slander of a deceased person. And the right to medical privacy substantially erodes at death, giving family members the ability to obtain sensitive information about a decedent’s medical
conditions.

Then why did none of her other 11 children show signs of abuse. They also questioned the 11 kids and none said mom was crazy or abusive any more than any average mom would be.
