Dang, that video actually made me emotional.
The girl was just happily skipping along and then was viciously attacked by a roaming dog.
Great job by those people to step in and help. Also, it seemed like the dog was only interested in the girl. Usually in these attacks the dog continues fighting the ones attempting to restrain, or no?

No doubt about it. I have a 2 year 11 month old and we often walk in the neighborhood to the park and around a few lakes in the neighborhood. I always carry a fixed blade knife. Just not going to face down a situation like that without the ability to end it quickly.

I got squared off with one of these fricking things in a park in colorado. I know dogs, I've had hunting dogs my whole life. That bastard wasnt bluffing, had I turned and ran hed have been on me and if i had been a kid i would have been badly hurt or worse. Since i didn't have anywhere to go I charged him when he charged me and thankfully he backed down and tailed out. I was about to be in a pocket knife fight with the damn thing.

Trash dogs for trash people, plain and simple. Drown all the puppies at birth as part of the eradication plan. too bad we can't do that to the owners too.
My retired neighbor tends to his 8 year old grandson before and after school. sperm donor/no support father dropped a pit puppy off Christmas morning for the kid. Neighbor told that to me, I told him if I see it out off a leash I'm gonna put it down. He said "Thanks in advance, trash dog from a trash person, just don't let [the kid] see it go down."
