One more reason to legalize drugs.
Cops benefit when they can steal from druggies.
We would all be safer from cops if drugs were legal. Cops coukd go back to doing police work.

Cops would probably be a hell of a lot safer too.

debatable and only if all drugs were legal and available legally for cheaper than the black market

A normal market for drugs will render the black market to a fraction of what it is now. No doubt in my mind the US would be a safer place.

yea but I don't see heroin or meth legalized anytime soon. the black market will still exist for them even when weed is legalized.

I agree they will remain illegal.. But should not be.
I know they are bad but so are the cops.

Well you could dispose of a shite ton of cocaine in a short amount of time. I agree that it doesn't apply here because they suspected the guy was growing marijuana, but I was just pointing out that no knocks are not only issued for people considered armed and dangerous.

Maybe we should address the forfeiture laws.
I think if departments were no longer allowed to keep what they steal, some of the motivation to get so aggressive may be decreased.

That's the entire problem with no-knocks. It's nuts.

no-knock warrant
Needs to be illegal and banned.

Would you say the same if it wasn't a cop but a fellow private citizen that was breaking in unannounced like the cop was?
You idiots will always make excuses for each other. It's disgusting.

I'm usually a white knight for LE, but no knocks are bad business. They should only be used in extreme cases were the warrant is being served on known killers or when the LE believe by knocking they will put themselves in greater harm. In this case it was an overzealous cop who got himself killed trying to play TV cop. Even with what he presented to the judge it shouldn't have warranted this unless the suspect was a known felon with violent convictions.
I'm a cop and I am surprised that a judge signed off on a no-knock given the info available.

Can't believe he is being charged for capital murder.

That's a whole 'nother pile of crap.
"Drug" ( read, marijuana ) task forces are already whining about the legalization of marijuana. Their revenues will go do down b/c they can't steal as much. They are concerned with budget cuts and layoffs.

The two biggest lobbying groups to keep drugs illegal are cops and drug gangs.

This is why we need to ban guns. Citizens shouldn't own guns. The officer was only trying to enforce the laws and he got shot and killed because some fricking paranoid right wing redneck in a trailer feels the need to own a gun because some slaveowner 200 years ago said it was his right.
fricking ridiculous. I commend the cop on his bravery risking his life to bring justice to this criminal. I hope he rots in prison

Without viewing your post history, I have to assume this is sarcasm.

I really, really, hate forfeiture laws.
I doubt any other set of laws has been abused like those, especially by police departments in Louisiana.
