So if I'm understanding this type of illness makes you disappear, but when you recover you do reappear. Damn, and a lot of people didn't understand Covid.

It's bizarre. I guess when you disappear with this illness, you leave your wife, kids, car, wallet and cell phone as well.

Last year a lady from Texas had this illness and came to New Orleans. Parked her car, left all personal belongings inside and disappeared for a month or two.
Had kids and a husband back home.

She went off the grid and hung out with the homeless druggies for a while and then was found safe.

You're right. I forgot about her. I wonder what became of her. She was a teacher, right?

They found her and I guess she went back home to get treatment.

They were on Facebook and so was a daughter or some other relative, but I can't find it now.

Kiran just posted that there are no updates on the missing man other than the initial article.

I bet the Texas Equisearch guy JUST now got home, threw his keys in the bowl, plopped in the recliner, then had to stand back up and fetch his keys and head back to Baton Rouge.

I was thinking about this case today and lack of follow up reporting. I'm thinking there is more to this case. If really actively missing, wouldn't they be keeping in fresh in the news? Cynical part of me wonders if Jody ever made it to BR at all. Perhaps wife and kids landed there, Jody was left somewhere along the way. Shoot, these officers know the drill now.. get all the public camera tapes, crack the phone, crack the wife's phone... story about parking the car while wife went in to hotel, sudden illness, seems sus.

There were fresh flyers up when I was downtown yesterday.

but those are by family members, friends, concerned groups presumably? The police, news, people familiar with the case have been silent, no? What do they know that we don't?

Damn. Wife and I are staying at the watermark in downtown Baton Rouge this weekend. Don’t plan on going out searching for hookers and cocaine so I should be fine right

I stayed there a few weeks ago. I lived

may be the same kind of deal-mental illness, maybe drugs in the mix, not out of the ordinary for him to drop off the grid...

wasn't there a teacher missing from BR sometime last year who was severely emaciated and thought to be on the streets? Wonder if she was ever found, these all seem to have similar MO's.

Talked to a friend of mine who spoke with some BRPD officers about it. It's still a missing person's case but leaning towards suicide. Don't be surprised if they find his body in the river.

If he's found rolled up in carpet though, will the police say no foul play is suspected?

It definitely seemed that based on the details released back in March that it had the impulsive characteristics of a suicide.

How is anything left of his body after being in the water and record breaking heat for 6 months?
