I wonder if he was Marriott BonVoy or a Hilton Honors man?

WAFB just said BRPD found his wallet in downtown Baton Rouge.
They found his wallet and cell in his car. The article doesn't say whether anything was missing from his wallet.
Strange story. Guy is driving his wife and kids to FL, starts feeling sick, stops in BR to get a hotel room, drops wife and kids at the hotel and goes to park his car. Doesn't return and the car is found with his wallet and cell in it.

A decision was made for Bert and his family to stop in Baton Rouge for the night so that relatives from Florida could travel to Baton Rouge to assist Bert and his family with the remaining drive home, BRPD spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely, Jr. said.
The wife must suck at driving

Detectives were told Bert dropped his wife and children off at a downtown Baton Rouge hotel and then left to park his car. However, he did not return to the hotel. Police later found his vehicle in a downtown hotel parking garage along with his wallet and cell phone, McKneely said. He was last seen by his family at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 22.
Did the wallet still have cash and credit cards still in it?
How far from the hotel is the parking garage?
Why not say in the news report what the names and locations of the hotel and parking garage are?

Something is very strange about this. The wife couldn’t drive? Others are going to drive all the way from Florida to pick them up? How sick was he? He was able to go park the car alone. Family didn’t even stay with him to make sure he didn’t pass out in the garage. I’m thinking we are being fed a story to cover for whatever the truth is. Maybe they were meeting her for drugs with these Florida people?

Came to post Germans, but now I realize that as I age, there is a very real chance I may end up missing soon if I head downtown.

He got your girl and he's gone!

That sounds like foul play to me.

Now this guy fits the profile of a possible drug deal gone bad. The other guy, not so much.
This guy was parking his car in a garage. The other guy was looking for drugs and hookers according to multiple sources. What in the hell are you talking about?

There are websites for this.
There are? That’s crazy! Which ones? This can’t be true. Like where would someone look to even see if this is true?

But Paul Murphy told me BR was safe

Well the original story was that guy was just walking a block back to his hotel and disappeared. And then it eventually changed to what the story is now
Would it be very surprising if this one ultimately changes as well?

This guy was up to something. Who passes all the hotels at the Lobdell exit and then decides to exit Downtown Baton Rouge to find a hotel?

Well, he ain't behind the funeral home, I can tell you that much.
Seems like rug sales would be a booming business though

Nearly anyone not from the area. If my choices are a Super 8 surrounded by truck stops or drive a little further and stay at a Hilton in a downtown area I'm passing the Super 8 every time.
