No way that's his only murder. He's totally a serial killer I bet.
I was thinking the same. He left a note on the side of a barn two years after the Tinsley murder, then went silent again until 2004.
The guy had to have been up to no good somewhere else.

I don’t think they use ancestry or 23&me
At least for the GSK it was from a public database which I have no problem with
I don't believe they can access the private DB's unless they have a warrant. And since they're trolling the open source DB, they don't have a name to use to get a warrant.
That said, you know the NSA has everything that's in any of those DB's stored somewhere.

I’m glad they caught him but I don’t like the principle behind this.
This should kill these ancestry dna companies
Not really. If you LITERALLY haven't done anything wrong then you will still participate.
The most interesting aspect to me is learning what level of relationship are getting these people. By that I mean, did the DNA come from a second or third cousin and that somehow led to this guy and the GSK?
Where people will become really wary is when insurance companies and other private businesses start paying these companies for access to their databases to make insurance, hiring, and other decisions based on the DNA of someone's cousin.

It was a few generations with EAR/ONS I believe.

I can't comprehend how people thought the government wasn't using the DNA testing results from those mail-in companies. That's like thinking they aren't tracking your phone or computer

Or saw his extremities off And let him die

Good. This is only the beginning, too. Hopefully it will discourage these sickos from pulling this shite.

Before the fancy DIY DNA companies became fads, various projects had already collected many blood samples from willing subjects for a variety of uses

Like ancestry.com?
Yeah, they're uploading the DNA profile onto these sites and seeing if any familial matches come up. It's not foolproof but it helps them narrow it down.

Uncle Sam collects DNA on all service members so I’m sure they search DOD Database as well.
