It's absolutely a troll. A good one too. I went to bed with it at 4 pages and was expecting it to be around 10 when I woke up. It was at 22. Either it was a good troll thread or this dude doesn't stand a chance to get laid, ever.

Exactly. Can you build some type of relationship communicating with someone via email only? Sure. But there is a lot more to communicating that words. Tone, body language, etc. So it is much easier for someone to take something out of context just because they don't know the tone about it.
She could tell him "I like you, you are a really good guy" and he could read it as if she is saying "I like you, I want to hook up because you are a good guy and I like good guys". She could be saying "you are a good guy and because of that I like you.. you have been such a good friend".

Online dating is like speed dating. Most I know who've done it say 20 or more first dates a few 2nds and 3rds maybe, and umpteen more "conversations" til they found someone who turns into something more.
Please tell me you have thicker skin than this.
Oh and don't get emotionally invested til much further down the road with someone. You're just interviewing chicks at this point.
