Another heartbreak, I'm just done with dating...

I know many of you have seen my posts on the political board. Many of you all know my story and my lack of success with women. This caused my hatred of women, which I have been trying to reverse. At this point though I feel nothing, my heart has finally had its last heartbreak.

I started doing online dating again (about 2 months ago) and so far have had 2 first dates. Both were good but no real connection. So in the last week I've been talking to this woman who I find very attractive, she's exactly my age, she's divorced but has no children and explained to me that it was due to him not being close to family and that it just drove them apart.

I honestly thought for the first time in a long time that I had found a woman perfect for me. Every hobby she listed were hobbies I really enjoy and most of the hobbies I like she enjoyed as well. Even though she's not a sports fan like me it's mostly due to not growing up with it and she was very willing to learn!

We had incredibly long conversations (by e-mail standards) and really were on the same page with a lot of things. We had agreed to a date tomorrow. I noticed though I hadn't heard from her since early yesterday (a long time considering all my other messages she responded to within a hour), long story short, last minute some friend of hers set up a date for her Friday night. She had a good time, the guy asked her out for a second date, she accepted and didn't want to pull me along since she doesn't believe in going on dates with multiple guys at once.

Essentially I got dumped, again, last minute. This woman I really did have a huge connection with. Everything seemed to be going right here. I appreciate her honestly, that was one of her best qualities and we both shared our desire to be honest and open. But again, are you kidding? My heart finally gets some hope when it comes to love and once again my heart is crushed.

Someone please tell me why I shouldn't just give up on love now. I gave it all I could and it's just done nothing for me. I'm seriously considering just focusing on my interests, doing stuff I enjoy by myself, and shutting women out of my life completely. I feel so rejected, I feel like all it does is give me pain. Someone tell me why I shouldn't do that because my heart just can't take this anymore.
