this is simply not true

Absolutely true. Outside of the occasional burglary or looting of an unlocked car, nothing much happens at all in Southdowns or the areas around there. Pull up a crime map and filter for violent crimes and you will see it is very defined to North Baton Rouge and Gardere.

Here is last year... every crime in the city

here

Zoom in and have some fun... granted a few crimes in the southern part, but I suspect you will see a pattern

It's not very far from LSU, the Water District and the future Tram.

This isn't in 70805.

That's a very bad area

What will this do to the housing values there?

Also, does anybody have a link to that grocery store's webpage? I'd like to check out their weekly online ad.

Him and the SJW's will not say a word about this crap. Black on black crime is ok in NBR just as long as whitey or LEO are not involved.

It's starting to gentrify. And we all know hipsters scare even the toughest thugs.

Yeah, when I hear "murder in BR" I immediately think either:
-70805
-President streets
-Somewhere way out off Sherwood that has become hood in the last decade or so

Lucky for you (and property owners in downtown and near LSU) this is slowly happening.

Sounds like you're real familiar with the city. Perhaps you shouldn't try to play tour guide for the rant. They'll probably end up in the ghetto because of you.

Seriously.

It's pretty true actually. Not saying nothing ever happens, but the stats are very skewed to the northern part of the city.

As far as violent crime, yes.

This is Old South BR in discussion here.

Sadly, LSU is a diamond sitting in a pile of manure.
