It really boggles my mind how these gargantuan companies that have spent decades building up their brand suddenly can’t comprehend the value in that brand. Makes me wonder what is being taught nowadays in the top business schools. And by brand, I don’t mean just the logo that this idiot woman CEO has changed, though it’s an important aspect of it. A company’s brand is far more than the sign on the front of the building or the logo on their product. What I mean is the overall experience and atmosphere Cracker Barrel customers have grown to love over the decades. Their brand is nostalgic old-school American rural Southeast culture and food. That’s what people want and expect from Cracker Barrel. It’s literally their brand. Take that away and you take away the reason people go to Cracker Barrel.
They should hire a titan of industry like an assistant manager of trac repair in central Alabama like you. You’d have this shite fixed and still have time to make a new toy by the end of the week

I thought this was largely overkill in terms of the public backlash. I think it's a solution in search of a problem and is typical 2025 tone-deaf stuff, but I thought the people raging were mostly doing it for sport/out of boredom (probably still true).
But then I saw they paid gay social media influencers participate in some Manhattan Cracker Barrel pop up with the new trade dress/branding

It really wouldn't be any different than a new Chick Fil-A CEO coming in and reducing portion sizes, food quality and level of service, then wondering why sales were down and, instead of fixing that, removing the Chicken on the logo, dumping the Cows, opening up on Sundays and losing the "my pleasure" line and thinking they've really done something brilliant. You begin to fundamentally change what made the brand... the brand.

That’s a very good example. Sure, companies have to grow over time. But if someone comes in and starts trying to mess with the brand, that person needs to be shown the door.

"Sales are down. Wonder what it is."
-Probably the decor and the old white guy on the sign. Let's change that.
"Ohhh... good idea. Do it starting tomorrow"

The food sucks at Cracker Barrel. There is a reason it is close to interstate. It is not good. I think the last time I was there was 6 or 7 years ago and it was for my grandmother birthday breakfast. The service was horrible. It is def a last resort when it comes to meals. Eggs are not good and pancakes are flat.

It's entertaining how these corporations think the beta's on the left that still live in Mommy's basement can support an entire chain after a woke statement.

That someone that was hired is obviously not a Cracker Barrel type.
Therein lies the problem. Would you bring in farmer Joe to overhaul Starbucks??
Board fricked this up royally.

$35.11 just back in April, then $71.86 on July 23.
A bit of a roller coaster as of late, but it's been a pretty steady stock decline since April 2021.

Drove by the local one here in Knoxville and it was packed as always. Not everyone has to be a pussy I guess.
Oh and the logo hasn't changed out front either.
