holding up his Apple device, King asked Pichai, "How does that show up on a 7-year-old's iPhone who's playing a kids game?"
The Google CEO answered the question by saying, "Congressman, iPhone is made by a different company."

Steve King's technology ignorance is his best attribute, and it ain't close.

I mean, from a technical standpoint, even if the details are a bit different, the google ceo should still be able to give a good answer.
Of technology I’ve worked on, if I went to every one of our major competitions, sure, there would be differences, but they’d all have the basic functionality

Google CEO is an extremely arrogant individual and his quip will be the beginning of his downfall.

I honestly thought this was blown out of proportion. It was an irrelevant question, but I am not sure if he was confusing Google and Apple.. And to be fair, google has smartphones as well...

Advertisements on phones, apple or android or google or whatever, are based on browsing history. So if she wasn’t searching his name, someone that used the phone before her was.

My Google Android iPad won’t play Fortblox for some reason.

If you had said the Senate, I might have guessed it could have been about 98 out of 100

At least he knows Guam isn't about to TIP OVER!

Well of course, he was just using the opportunity to grandstand in front of the cameras just like most Congressmen will.
FWIW I did not post this to make any political point other than that lawmakers really should be better informed about this stuff.

I'm no google apologist but it was a great answer to a person who didn't know a single thing about what he was asking about

All he had to go on was Steve King's word that it happened, which at best made it an unlikely hypothetical.

Yep. This is why I hate sound bite politics. It's so trite and tiring.

The good Congressman specifically said the kid was playing a kids' game, so no it doesn't matter whether Google is available on the iPhone.
