My sister lives in a house in Austin that would probably cost 400k in BR and Zillow says it's worth 1.2 million. 2900 sq ft

and these frickers are coming literally a mile from my door

nice campus they are building

One or the other of the two companies has been working on the campus for a couple of years. I did notice they started another building after they have the other almost done.

Circle T

It is on part of the Circle T, which is part of Alliance.

If you are a young family guy this isn't a bad place to come to. I hear people say it is going to be the next Frisco out here. I am not sure about that but there is development all over.

South Carolina is quietly following Texas’ lead.

I do get a laugh out of this board and posters who talk about how awful the south is and how bad it’s doing when they aren’t really talking about the south, they are talking about Louisiana or a couple other states.

Texas, SC, NC, Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia are doing damn fine. Just look at the population of those states 30 years ago compared to now. Even if you don’t consider Texas the south it’s impressive

Most homes are appreciating 10% annually. I know people that are buying condos for 325,000 and will probably be worth well over 550,000 within the next 10 years, if not sooner.

I'm glad to see another nail in CA's coffin.

Hate to see liberal scum moving to the south.

Those shitheads should be made to live with their political decisions.

I think where my sister lives is one of the more expensive areas in price/sq ft but it's certainly nothing impressive to look at for a house worth over a million.

A lot of these transplants are moving areas that are largely already liberal voters. Unfortunately Westlake is part of Denton County and they are currently a conservative district but I think it'll take a LOT more voters to turn it blue. Dallas is the only blue county in a large surrounding currently and they have a TON of corruption in their politics and police force.

The new Schwab building is in Denton county but a majority of Westlake homes are in Tarrant county. And honestly, most of these folks will live in Southlake, Keller, Roanoke, Grapevine and Trophy Club, with Trophy Club being the only one in Denton County.

But these are white collar financial/investment jobs. These people like money way too much to vote for many of the insane progressive social policies. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Paul as someone of your sophistication, rubbing shoulders with such unfortunate lower-privledged condo dwellers, you are what everyone in a polite society should hope their kids strive to be.

Lolz. I don’t live in either but I’d take SA over Austin with ease. Personal preference, but to call SA a dump when you’re Austin is laughable.

Relax, Nancy...it's a running joke.

Well, depends on what you consider "quality", but nicer neighborhoods range from $500k - $1MM+.

Mea culpa. I was like “Austin has 0 room to talk trash.

I have to spend a lot of time in both. I like the parks of Austin more but SA is just a more enjoyable city to me.

Awesome. Helps my house in Southlake increase in value. That hole Westlake area is booming. The Deloitte corporate retreat center is sweet.

It would be nice if companies could do business here without having to pay off politicians (which I know probably goes on all over to some degree, but in order for things to happen here it usually has to be in someone with power best interest.
