Who's to say that they haven't been observing us all along, but just keeping a safe distance?

Also meaningful? Billions upon billions of opportunities for civilizations to advance beyond ours and visit us...yet all are deciding to observe us at a safe distance?

Anyways, it's meant to be parody but it had me thinking, what if God really was trapped/missing/stuck somewhere and that's why a lot of weird shite is going down. Someone/thing found a loophole and trapped him on Earth

So what you're saying is, what if God was one of us? Just trying to make his way home?

Astrophysics black guy said that there is a 2% difference between us and chimps, 2. He went on to say that if life outside of earth is just 2% more advanced than us that it would blow our minds. Why would anything that intelligent even bother to interact with us when we are so beneath them? Yeah, we study chimps, but we are still learning alot and we share a planet with them. They could probably study us with out even interacting with us at all.

They may already be studying us, or already be among us, but we don't even know it.

Also, from the kepler wiki page

quote:

In November 2013, astronomers estimated, based on Kepler space mission data, that there could be as many as 40 billion rocky, Earth-size exoplanets orbiting in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars and red dwarfs within the Milky Way.[29][30][31] It is estimated that 11 billion of these planets may be orbiting Sun-like stars.[32] The nearest such planet may be 3.7 parsecs (12 ly) away, according to the scientists.[29][30]

One galaxy, 40 billion earth like planets, and there are billions of galaxies. Do the math

I very much doubt this, but NASA has been suffering funding cuts.

Yeah, but then they have to sift through all that shite to find us.

The real question is, can they play defensive tackle?

Saban has already offered a number of these potential beings, so safe assumption is yes.

I see your point. I personally think sending an actual human to explore will never happen. We'll utilize augmented reality to accomplish the same goal.

Again...if that's the case, isn't it meaningful? If the odds that life exists elsewhere is astronomical, the fact that we haven't been in contact with that life (for whatever reason) means it's astronomical odds against that we ever will.

If an advanced civilization observed some of the shite we do, I'm sure they'd say the exact opposite

You know it's funny we always think of aliens as green monsters of some sort intent on destroying us.

I find it odd that nobody entertains the idea that maybe they'd be just like us
