I learned how to wrap them properly with a YouTube video.

I want to give people the thought and respect they deserve.

All the skills required to neatly wrap a gift are masculine skills.

Im not talking about bows and ribbons and shite.

It’s 2024. Just come out of the closet already

The trick is to use way less paper than you think you need. It’s the excess paper that will mess it up really quickly. If you precisely cut it so that the sides cover around 3/4 up the sides you will be golden.

I learned to wrap when my wife and I split and I became a single Dad.

Wrapping basic gifts is extremely easy if you can follow very basic directions. Every Christmas, I watch a YouTube video to remind myself of the steps. I then slowly and carefully execute the steps as instructed. And every single Christmas, I have at least one person react with shock as they are unwrapping the gift, likely notice a minor imperfection in the wrapping job, and ask incredulously if I wrapped it myself. It always seems to make them feel good that I took a few minutes out of my day to at least semi-competently wrap their gift.

Went to a white elephant exchange last night and brought my gift in a happy birthday bag.

Thanks for the advice Rome. This is what gets me, the cutting of the paper. I'm always scared I won't cut enough, so cut too much, then struggle with the excess.

Thankfully, the SO does all the wrapping and the only unwrapped are for her. And she usually knows what it is, so she dgaf if it's wrapped or not. She wanted a $200 pillow. $200!!!

It came in yesterday. She said frick that, don't wrap it, I'm using it tonight.

I don't even bother anymore. Everything goes in an envelope or a bag.

Morning Vette

Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well. You still driving your mini motorbike with the tassled hat at the Shriner's parade?

It drives my wife nuts. I know how to wrap properly too but it takes too long. Wrapping is a game of speed
