This is from ChatGPT

quote:

Yes, in Louisiana, it is generally illegal to go onto someone else's boat without permission—this can be considered criminal trespass under state law.

Here's how it breaks down:
Louisiana Revised Statutes §14:63 - Criminal Trespass
This law makes it illegal to enter or remain on someone else's property without express, legal, or implied authorization.

A boat, even if it's on the water or docked, is considered private property.

Entering it without the owner's permission can qualify as criminal trespass, especially if signs are posted or if you're told to leave.

If the boat is docked on private land, it could involve trespassing both on the land and the vessel.

Penalties
Criminal trespass can be:

A misdemeanor for first-time offenders.

Punishable by fines, jail time, or community service, depending on circumstances and prior offenses.

If the boat is occupied...
Entering an occupied vessel could escalate things further and potentially lead to charges like:

Burglary

Unauthorized entry of a place of business (if it qualifies as such)

Or even theft or attempted theft, depending on intent.

If you're dealing with a specific situation or have more details (e.g. location, whether it was docked, anchored, etc.), I can help you interpret how the law might apply more precisely.

No real man is going to show his arse like that to a kid. And I’d bet my DD-214 that fricker wasn’t a ranger and probably never heard a single shot fired in anger.

So that kid could have told him to get off his boat and when he didn't, could have shot that idiot and would have been well within his rights to do so.

But that dick bag did what he did because he knew that kid wouldn't push back. The kid didn't show any sign of aggression or any interest in continuing to engage with him.

If it was someone who would told him to go frick himself and told him to come on over if he wants a piece of him.. or some shite he would have been singing a whole different song. He is that guy that everyone would love to see get knocked out.

And the people with him, if they were just with him for the ride, they don't really like him. They just wanted to go out in the water because if you are good friends with someone you try to keep them from doing something stupid... Or help them out in a situation. They didn't want to tell him to let it go because they were in his boat and they didn't know him well enough to be in his boat and tell him to let it go.

They probably went back and told whoever "we went ride with _______ in the boat earlier, but thats the last time I am going with him. He is going to get shot one day..." then they go on to tell what happened. That's who that dude is..The only reason people interact with him is because of what they can get from him.

I am assuming he had no idea he was being videoed? If not I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when he saw it for the first time.

Douchebags like that is why you can visibly see a gun or two on any boat I’m on.

In the real world we conceal but whilst fishing we make it clear we aren’t the people to bully.

It's always amazed me how quickly some loser becomes an ex Army Ranger after a couple drinks. Especially if they're a little short on the tab.

Even back in the 90's when I was bartending in college. Lots of special forces bros staggering around out there.

I’m not a parent, but I imagine videos like this make that dads on here’s blood boil.

If one of yalls’ kids had this happen and showed you the video, I’d bet your inner Charles Bronson would be activated.

Not defending the actions of the captain, but not having lights after dark was the initial reason he was mad. No navigation lights is obviously illegal and very dumb and puts more than just the offending boat at risk for accidents.

My guess is the captain was running back and had a close call because of the lack of lights on the buddy's boat. They exchanged words and the capt whet home angry because a kid called him a fig, stewed about it for the next day and then this happened.

Those guys in the boat had nothing to do with that a-hole…

They actually told him to get back on the boat…

Looks like he’s ready to do some math with 8th graders. But definitely a killer.

I believe one of the side characters in Sicario was based on him.
