Serving a felony warrant is not just another apprehension they needed the extra firepower so they are not outgunned by the felon

The problem is cops never use appropriate force in response. The correct thing to do here would be to jump out of the way and then hit him with your car. At most you should try to shoot his gas pedal foot but anything more than that is unthinkable.

You have overdosed on Hollywood and have under-dosed on reality.

Can you imagine how this would actually play out in real life? Good luck training the average officer to aim for a gas pedal foot on a driver of a vehicle that has decided to run their arse over with said car.

Would you be willing to have a go at that? Would you agree to stand in front of a vehicle driven by me and you are armed with a paintball gun. If you successfully dive out of the way and shoot me in my gas pedal foot, you win. I win if I run your arse over in my car. Deal? If not, what about that seems unfair to you?

Not necessarily..... So many things have been upgraded to a felony that every citizen unknowingly commits felonies. A felony warrant does not mean a suspect is dangerous. Most felonies are non-violent victimless crimes.

ETA.... not saying this applied in this case but just that serving felony warrants are actually just another apprehension unless the warrant is for a violent offense.

I think the first few shots were probably justified but they should have laid off as he drove away unless they thought someone was caught under the car.

That's good, if you ignore the suspect's lengthy record. You can't do that, and the "appropriate amount of firepower" for a person like this dead guy, with his record, will always be "alot".

If it wasn’t as serious as you say, then why did he try to run??????

That is not what I said nor what I was replying to.

Felony warrants are mostly served for non-violent victimless crimes so they are just another apprehension unless the warrant is for a violent crime or for a subject with a violent criminal record.

You make a guess in the expected fire power that the arrestee may have...and the cops should have triple.

I can't. I have men's night at my church. However, if y'all are still out there after I may swing by.
