Twitter late Wednesday locked President Trump out of his account for the first time, the most punitive step the social media giant has taken against the president, on a day of social unrest and violence in Washington.

The lockout, which will last for 12 hours, also included the removal of three tweets and a warning that Trump could be subject to a permanent suspension if he continues tweeting baseless conspiracy theories about the election and inciting violence.

Would make it interesting for Parler if Twitter did that.

So, they are fine with taking out Trump over this but all was good in the hood with this past summer’s rioting in Louisville, Minny, Atlanta, and elsewhere.

As much hatred white liberals have for minorities, why are they banning Trump but allowing white liberals to post?

Understand what this does to the psyche of the average twitter user regardless of political leaning?

“The banned the president for life, I better not say anything bad”

They would have banned him long ago but they know the amount of traffic they’d lose if they banned Trump. These tech comoanies posturing on their morals now

I’m so happy we have our tech overlords to arbitrate what information can and cannot see the light of day

Good. He's not responsible enough to have a public voice.

Of course it was. Hell, YouTube and Facebook were perfectly fine with hosting livestreams of people committing crimes, some of them major felonies.

A lot of those people didn't even get a slap on the wrist because the local DA's didn't want to prosecute.

IMO if the rule of law doesn't apply to everyone, it shouldn't apply to anyone.

Which illustrates the mindset which is worse than anything Trump is accused of doing.

Same behavior can take place but if it is done for your side it is “on the right side of history” and if it isn’t it is evil racist fascist whatever.

Trump is a whiny cry baby bitch. But this is absurd what facebook and twitter are doing. Hopefully there's a death of social media in the future. We need it as a society.
