Talk about trashing the goodwill and brand of an old business.
They had basically passive income; mailbox money for doing nothing other than not sucking worse. So from that an easy springboard to making something great.
But nah cuz thangs.

Why on God's earth would you put a business that requires frequent customer traffic in New Orleans East??? New Orleans is hard enough to survive as a business. Putting it out there was a death sentence.

Not to mention the beer was anything but exceptional and the rebranding was a slap in the face to loyal customers who wanted that stuff back. Terrible decisions all the way around.

So it didn't really have anything to do with "going woke"?
They called people who critisized their move to the East as "racist." Sobyeah, it has everything to do with going woke. Going woke is a delusional mindset that ignores things like basic pattern recognition.

They should have said FU we keeping the name Dixie as that the value not the actual product.

They could have negotiated a better tax break with the city of Nola and the S&WB.

Moved administrative offices to Northshore or Metairie.

Moved the tasting center by UNO near the lakefront. People can come relax, but a few beers & food, and sit out watching the lake front view.

Just kept the warehouse and beer distributor center where they have it.
I would have tried to make it a 3 PL liquor distribution warehouse for smaller companies that need distribution & warehouse services.
From there you can have the stuff people don’t need to see like trucks, warehouse, and brewery.

I did my part. Used to occasionally buy a pack of Dixie just for nostalgia. Once the name changed, I said never again.
