It took them 300 years to decide this was wrong? shite, people today know their right and you're wrong within 5 seconds of a discussion.

Depends on your intent with attending, it is NOT and never will be a MASS. Its simply praise and worship, nothing more.

If you think it's mass, then yes its 100% wrong.

If it is really important to both of you. I suggest that you take a long hard look at both. Also remember that being Catholic is not where you go to church on Sunday, being Catholic is a way of life. And it’s not always easy in fact it very seldom is! But it is according to Jesus, the path to heaven.

Well, according to canon law it is.

I heard a Protestant minister say once that they have to be dynamic speakers or have flashy services because they do not have the Mass to fall back on.

I think he’s Catholic now

Judging or thinking down on others because of their preferred religion is the first indicator that someone is not using religion for the right reasons.

You’re right I should have stated it is not just where you go to church on Sunday!

That is so cute that Catholics think they are the one true church even though history says otherwise.

These Catholics up in here are some judgmental SOBs.

Jesus literally said "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

I interpret that as; it doesn't matter what denomination church you go to, as long as you're going for the right reason.

Also, the holy mass is not just a service, it is an unbloody sacrifice

Why must you seemingly always avoid any pointed questions/objections that I may have? Are you a fan of cognative dissonance?

Here's some practical advice. Admit that the Catholic Church isn't all that you think it is. Use my posts as a guide, then you and your fiancee split the middle and become ACNA or Presbyterian where you may find a church that is liturgical and has some "upbeat" music...

Same, except grew up Pentecostal/Apostolic and now attend Baptist. Get more out of it now than I ever did growing up.

Maybe you get more out of it now simply because you’re a grown up

I didn’t see your other response, sorry

I just saw the one where you link Canon law - I’m at work so I’m not paying attention as much as I could to this thread

Not if you agree with Rome. He would have to come to a point of seeing where Rome is wrong on some things, or rather does not have exclusivity on some things.

He could also notice that Presbyterians continue to appoint elders and deacons the exact same way that the church has always done so. And in that sense, experience a valid sacrament (there is an unbroken line of succession).
Sure, Rome declared their departure invalid during the 16th century, but in many ways, Rome invalidated themselves. That's the whole argument.
