Fair point in a bubble but isn't a big part of the complaint with Disney parks that they have ridiculously long lines, outrageously priced hotels, amenities and fast passes and an overall mess of overcrowded chaos. Adding a bunch of weirdos with Peter Pan Syndrome only makes those problems worse, thereby causing harm.

Let's consider two other scenarios:

(1) Your 8 year old child really wants Santa Claus to bring him the new Star Wars toy for Christmas. You go to the store to buy it but they are all sold out because a bunch of overgrown nerds decided they still want to play with toys in their 30s.

(2) You take your kid to the park to play on the playground. Oops, every single swing, slide and jungle gym is occupied by a childless loser and they ain't leaving.

Disney is a commodity subject to the laws of supply and demand. When the curve gets wrecked by interlopers, the intended audience suffers. My point is leave the kid stuff for the kids and grow the f--k up and live a normal, productive adult life. And we're not even touching the deeper issue of how these fools act the other 360 days of the year when they aren't prancing around Orlando in some emotionally stunted fantasy where Tinkerbell is real and some dude in a cape and tights will save everything. You want to live in a society dominated by 10 year olds? Good luck with that.

God you're such a loser.

Because there is this toxic mentality that once you become an "adult" that you aren't allowed to enjoy shite that your kid may enjoy... and that's just a miserable way to go about life.

I don't think this is really it

It's anecdotal, but the people I know who are Disney nuts either a) are irresponsible and over leveraged and spend more on Disney than college funds (and it shows) or b) are socially awkward and bitter who have a weird Disney escapism thing.

I'm not suggesting there aren't totally healthy normal people who are Disney obsessed, but I don't think the reputation comes because the rest of us think adults shouldn't be able to have fun.

This isn't limited to Disney, you could just as easily make some of the same points about travel ball people.

Are you really living a normal, productive life if you're having complete meltdowns over what other adults do that have no bearing on your life whatsoever?

I'm not convinced.

That's my point when I brought up how is shelling out a ridiculous amount of money on LSU football any different. It's also why I added the caveat of as long as you provide for yourself and your family, who gives a frick what you do?

ETA: And that toxic "be a stuffy adult" mentality does exist based on some in this thread.

How do you define a "weak thing?"

It’s the only place in world where they can be amongst other adults with terrible tooth to gum ratios

I'm not super passionate about this, but I do think it's a little more common for people to think Disney obsession is weird vs. spending money on supporting your college and going to its athletic events. Maybe that's fair, maybe not.

I think my only retort to your post would be that most of the people I'd throw in the "weird disney obsessed" camp don't fall into the well-adjusted types who are family people and have their priorities in order. But in fairness, I only know 3-4 couples that do this stuff. But generally I don't think the Disney adult reputation is built on wholesome families who like Disney a lot, it's centered on middle aged adults (often without kids) who make their life about Disney. Again, that may not be a fair description, but I think that's how it's viewed.

There are very few hobbies that are actually mature.

The whole point is to waste time and have some fun. Which isn’t very adult like.

For starters, getting worked up over someone’s opinion on a message board that’s known for its humor and sarcasm, as many of you losers have done on this thread

I've read the Rant or the Scoreboard during an LSU game, I'm not so sure about that.

This is a "hobby" where a shite ton of grown arse men lose their minds and call kid's names whether on TD or actually to the kid on social media when the kid chooses to go do a different school than their favorite team.

Point being, there are loons on the extremes of both and most anything people do.

That has nothing to do with what you quoted, and you're the most "worked up" person here.
