If a region does not have multiple sources of energy production, those should be prime spots for nuclear.

Having multiple pathways for energy production, which will mitigate upward price pressure arising from the referenced increase in demand, possibly averting significant negative impacts to the economy, is smart and we should subsidize alternative energy even more proactively.

We’re already producing more oil than we ever have and it’s a finite resource with very volatile pricing.

Ok, a year old article that doesn’t address the issue raised by the OP. Got it.

Liberal white women are the second most easily manipulated group. There's no progressive idiocy they can't be convinced to support. All you have to do is tell them their support makes them look tolerant or morally virtuous.

Impossible to get approved these days. But it's a great technology and it does provide clean energy.

Natural gas is another obvious answer.

Currently FedGov seems to be taking a hard line stance against anything but wind and solar. Neither of them are ideal for base load generation, and both take up a massive amount of space. Their highly subsidized operations drives up land costs which sucks even more.

A big-arse propane tank and whole house generator is high on my priority list for upcoming improvements in the next year or so.

I hope they are at least supplementing this with solar on the roof of those giant, sprawling data centers.

It won't come close to handling that demand though. And it won't be cost competitive unless we ban everything else. Because it's solar.

Is this feasible for them to do? Don't solar panels generate a lot of heat? And I think the data centers need to be kept at lower temps.

That is why smart people let the market decide instead of heavily influencing it.

It amazes me how we’ve had the solution for decades and are too dumb to use it.

Except they just gave nuclear the same subsidy as wind and solar.

Also LOL on the wind taking up a lot of space.

It’s so obviously the fricking answer that I can’t even deal with it.

Nuclear proves the hypocrisy of the green energy movement. It’s about control first and foremost, not about reducing pollution.

Everytime there’s one of these threads, I’m always shocked at how many people are complete idiots when it comes to how the power grid works.

It amazes me that it took potato brain Biden to be the first one to give nuclear a subsidy to incentivize it's deployment.

Induction stoves are more efficient than traditional electric stoves,

Not really. Thing about induction cooktops is that they often draw more power than manufacturers claim. Pretty pick any 1800W rated induction unit, put a kettle of water on it, and watch it pull 2000W+. Same with 240V units. All things equal they are pretty much using the same amount of electricity to heat stuff.
