I've said this before but will say it again...nuclear solves the energy problem too well. It does not give them the ability to push all their other equity and social programs along with the solution. So they have and always will rage against nuclear.

Every nuke project i've worked on got tanked by NIMBYs before the eviro-nuts could even get to town.

Nuclear power is way more expensive than solar and wind. Even the cost of developing better energy storage and distribution infrastructure will be cheaper than building and maintaining nuclear plants. Nuclear is not the path forward.

I thought it was the bitcoin miners.

All of the bitcoin projects i've seen are taking excessive production from wind and solar. NextEra, for example, uses them to run their wind farms at full utilization. They divert the excess to the mining ops and throttle them depending on availability.

Were not running out of power, there's just a deliberate attempt to force people into climate change BS.

It is pricey and have a long arse ROI. The new subsidy will help, but it'll still probably be the most expensive gen source.

No single generation source is the path forward. Diversity of type and location is the key to a successful energy strategy.

Interesting letter from the CEO of TVA and growth in the area has grown 3x faster than the nation. So that’s a lot of growth and consumption and the power supply has not changed why? Government.

Did we read the same thing?
quote:

we have signed five power purchase agreements, totaling nearly 800 MW of solar generation and 20 MW of battery storage.

Last year we added 1,500 MWs of cleaner, more reliable natural gas generation

Bingo.

Its just how the pie is sliced. Activism runs the show, not markets so expect failure.

NIMBYs also love to block housing projects in these Uber liberal areas.

Oh, but they're the first to perform a song and dance about their commitment to the cause...whatever cause that is.
