America's rats are getting desperate amid coronavirus pandemic

America's rats are being hit hard by the coronavirus.
As millions of Americans shelter indoors to combat the deadly virus, which has claimed over 21,000 U.S. lives, many businesses — including restaurants and grocery stores — have closed or limited operations, cutting off many rodents' main sources for food. On deserted streets across the country, rats are in dire survival mode, experts say.
quote:
"A restaurant all of a sudden closes now, which has happened by the thousands in not just New York City but coast to coast and around the world, and those rats that were living by that restaurant, some place nearby, and perhaps for decades having generations of rats that depended on that restaurant food, well, life is no longer working for them, and they only have a couple of choices."
And those choices are grim. They include cannibalism, rat battles and infanticide.
quote:LINK
. "A new 'army' of rats come in, and whichever army has the strongest rats is going to conquer that area."
Rats whose food sources have vanished will not just move into other colonies and cause fights over grub. They will also eat one another.

I know it probably wouldnt help but why not spread some pesticide in the streets of the fq where they are congregating? Seems like we could knock the population down

I think we just found our sports replacement.

I feel like this could be incorporated into the south park corona episode

With no sports ESPN should air this instead of video game tournaments

Colonialism!
I bet those are some racist rats too.
Also, "humans are the only species that goes to war."

ESPN better get on this. If we can't get live sports, then at least let us watch packs of starving rats battle to the death.

Thank you again media. When there’s a problem they’re “America’s rats”. When all is going great and one becomes a famous chef they’re French.

I smell a Disney movie plotline

Haha. I don't know. I think I've heard it somewhere before, but, if not, I'm sure there is some naive, hippy-dippy moron that thinks this.

Am waiting for some radical liberals (probably some movie star) to begin some "Save a Rat" campaign.
I can see the commercial now, similar to the showing the sad dogs with Sara Mclachlan song playing...
