Lakeway, Bee Cave and most of West Travis county is great and desirable. Cedar Park and some other areas just don't do it for me. Just my .02

Ya, I haven't been out towards the lake yet unfortunately. Wife and I are both approx 30 so we didn't want to be too far out from social stuff.
We're buying in one of those little hamlets where there is maybe 20 houses on the hill, then you go down the main road and another 20 and so on. I've never had a view like that in my life. Pretty pumped about it.

Side benefit is everyone here is attractive and in shape. That peer pressure mixed with working out buys me heading home 1.5 hours later with a little lighter traffic is changing my life

Waze has me going from 183 down Mopac to Lake Austin to Chavez to 1st st.
I'll have to check that route out.
Mopac isn't opening in November from what I can tell. It's a shitshow. They have some express lanes done but don't want to open them because it would make the system look bad by causing jams at its exits.
When it does finish it will be sweet since the entrance is just south of Far west where my wife would get on Mopac at

I'll try your route Monday evening. Monday is the worst. It might be technically time wise longer but I rather consistently move then brake checking every 2 feet. Appreciate the tip

There's a reason why, but most people are reluctant to say it. The population demographic that's so prevalent in Baton Rouge and many other southern cities is not well respresented in Austin.

You kids act like this is new. National Geographic caused the first Austin Boom in the 80s with a "best place to live" ranking. Yea they used to have that mind of influence before the Internet.
The hipsters and 'San Jose' economy and 'enlightened folks come one come all' atmosphere are just continuing the next generation.

Yes they did for 2 decades. Do your own research. Look at the double decker I-35 for a glaring example example before 183 and Mopac were expanded. Lol

You're right, they did have a big population boom. It wasn't at the same rate, but it's comparable.

Not a fan of Austin. Maybe I'm longhorned biased but I've never been enamored with it.
Only thing positive is the red-dirt scene there was tremendous about 5 years back. Some of the dive shithole bars I liked got pushed out when they couldn't afford the rent increases.
It's pretty central to the rest of Texas so that's a positive I guess.
