I'm not taking sides in the underlying argument here, but one glaring difference with COVID v anti-vaxxer is, THERE IS NO VACCINE FOR COVID, and there won't be one for a long time, and a crazy large % of us will have/have had it by the time there's a vaccine available.

Correct. I'm just pointing out the common theme of the argument that a citizen has no responsibility to protect society while at the same time receiving all the benefits of society and should have no liability if that intentional irresponsibility leads to harm to another.

Why because I ask people to take care of themselves?

Anti-vaxxers are going to be the first in line to get this vaccine.

Your argument is that populations at higher risk for dying should take precautions to prevent contracting Covid. They should assume responsibility.

Simultaneously, you say you should be able to do whatever you want. Thus, you should not have to assume responsibility for potentially transmitting Covid.

Spreading infection requires two people. You want old people quarantined so you don't have to assume responsibility to avoid infecting others.

Probably.

Because its "real".

If you ever try to have a conversation with an anti-vaxxer, you quickly realize they are some of the absolute dumbest, most selfish people on the planet.

Yep. One of my cousins is one. It’s like talking to a wall. She thinks she’s educated on the subject because she’s read some anti-vax books off amazon.

My wife is a doctor. I’m tempted to let her go HAM on her.

This post screams that you know nothing of the real world. You’re either in high school or extremely spoiled and sheltered, which one is it?

You also make several of these same out of touch threads a day which is even more bizarre.

If you find one that is anti-gun, you can really turn them around. A girl I used to work with was hardcore anti-vaxxer and hardcore anti-gun.

I asked her if I don't lock up my gun and my kid takes it to school and kills another kid, should I be punished?

She responds that I should go to jail for life because of my irresponsibility.

And asked her what if I fail to get my kid the MMR vaccine and he gets the mumps, goes to school and transmits to an immunocompromised kid, same life in prison?

"Well, that's different"

Or maybe those at risk people should completely shut down their business and tell people like you to take responsibility and start your own company.

I have seen some stupid comments on this site but this takes the cake.

Absolutely ridiculous that we cannot have a quarantine for at risk individuals. It should not be my responsibility to make sure YOU do not get sick. Things should be running as normal, and if you are old or have conditions that put You at risk for getting severe complications of the virus, you should take responsibility to protect yourself. I 100% believe that businesses would allow those individuals to make accommodations to prevent themselves from getting sick.

If 75 year old granny decides to say frick it and go to Walmart (as I have seen over the past week) then why should I care if something happens to her when she ignores all of the precautions?

Open things up, quarantine at risk individuals, let Darwin's theory of natural selection take place for those that ignore
