Yes, 6 months or so ago, they cancelled my flight late at night, didn't provide any stipend for a hotel/food, and then further delayed the flight the next morning when we had already boarded (so just sat on the plane).
And they showed little remorse, of course.

Where are you? FAA has been understaffed for weeks along the East Coast, and airlines have been facing delays and cancellations outside of their control.
You are getting screwed regardless, but it might not be AA’s fault. However, they should just go ahead and notify you that the flight has 99% chance of getting canceled.

The WSJ today suggested travelers get to the airport 3 hours early. If I need to get to the airport three hours early for a 1 hour light, I’m driving.
